Diary of Diplomat's Wife
if you think the life of a diplomat is exclusive..
may be wrong may be right
for some cases- regarding the law immunity; yes!!
but, for the respnsibilities and consequnsies; No!!
i know, there are no job on this earth coming with no responsibilities and its consequensies.
But, for this diplomat issue everything goes more complicated.
why?
first, as the diplomat (and family) posted in the foreign country. we become the representative of the our nation and being an instant reflection of all the whole nation. for sure its not easy.
second, during the term of the duty, the whole family of the diplomat own similar responsibilities as the diplomat itself. rhe spouse, the children have to be able to promote, to explain about their country including in political issue, economic situation, tourism, and most importantly; the culture.
third, behave well, dress well, and cook well. show people that our country has class. we are unique but not primitive. we have dazzling dresses and we are very nice to people. dont forget to get them try our delicate cuisine. you have to be able to make the traditional food by yourself. (all this kitchen stuff are complitely "wifey" command)
fourth, if you think living abroad is all about travelling and visiting new places. sorry to say, it's not true. The diplomat have to be ready 24hrs and 7 days to receive a calls and right away go reach the places/people that need a help from an embassy. they are like the first aid, whenever the citizen of his/her country get into trouble. and it can happen anytime. you have to willingly sacrifice your holiday or your favorite movie schedule if there is a sudden call. it could happen in the middle of your movie time, shopping time, or even on your way for vacation. for the sake of your loyality to your country, just cancel everything. the protection and the satisfaction of your citizen are on the first place.
But,
after all....
as the diplomat's spouse. i feel fully lucky with all these expeeiences. i know not everyone will go through this journey.
this is the part of my amazing life.
all happiness and sorrow comes in one second.
i got mature and tough everyday.
i meet a lot of new people and knwing a lot of new things.
i am so glad that i get to learnΒ to cook by myself (the things that probably i womt try if i still stay wiyh my mom)
i also learn so much about life.
living so far away from ypur family is a gokd thing sometime.
because youre gonna face your trouble and have to face it and overcome it alone.
miracles everywhere...
this journey is changed me a lot.
becoming a diplomat's wife is not easy but it's super exciting.
