1. Origins of your blog’s name:

Back in ye olde 2016, I changed my Minecraft username to ‘Mehlodi’ because I wanted a creative way to spell the word ‘melody’ (obviously the actual spelling was already taken). Any and all friends I made from that point onwards would just shorten it to ‘Mehl’, which is what everyone calls me to this day (and, to the person who owns the Minecraft username 'Mehl'...I've got my eye on you 👀). One of my dear, dear friends started greeting me by saying ‘hello, Mehl-o’ and HENCE? The blog name was born, and is still a running joke between us today!

2. My ‘I’ll always order this food’:

I’m legally obligated to sample the spaghetti bolognese at any and every establishment that serves it, and I even keep a ranking in my notes app of where serves it best :)))

3. Overused emoji:

These sorta rotate every few months, depending on the mood I’m in, but right now I feel like I use 😂🫡🩷🙂‍↕️🙏👀a lot!

4. Current comfort movie, show, and book:

*crickety crack* okay, so this one has LAYERS. To me, there’s a difference between my favourite movie and my comfort movie - my favourite movie is A Star Is Born (2018) but I fear that cannot be my comfort movie, as I’m an emotional wreck every time I watch it, so then my comfort movies are any of the animated Barbie movies from the 2000s (I could yap about them forever, trustttt)

My favourite TV show is Brooklyn Nine-Nine, there’s literally zero competition with anything else. I’ve loved it for years and always will (though I pretend Season 8 doesn’t exist)

Comfort book is difficult, because I have so many favourites - however, I'm gonna be basic and say the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas (I always come back to the first 4 books specifically, and defending myself here by saying that I read the series as it was being released, before her books were massively popular!!!)

5. Song on repeat:

Usually it’s anything Taylor Swift, thoooooough currently I’ve got the soundtrack of the next musical I’m performing in on repeat (it’s a good one!)

6. My current hyperfixation:

It’s never not gonna be Dragon Age, let’s be real. But @glowinthedarkpaint and another good friend just recommended me ‘Searching For A World That Doesn’t Exist’ and I’m currently in a deep lore rabbithole with that, so check back in a few months to see how it pans out, I guess :)

7. Oddly specific thing that brings me joy:

Editing something so that the grammar and punctuation is *chefs kiss* perfect. (don't use this post as an example, I've committed many grammatical crimes)

8. What smell makes me happy:

Walking in the bush in the area I where grew up - it’s all temperate rainforest, and the smell of the moss and the leaf litter is so crisp and beautiful. 

9. Something I loved as a kid and secretly still do:

2000s animated Barbie movies, and I’ll die on this hill (Magic of Pegasus fans RISE)

10. Phone wallpaper right now:

A picture of me and Trixie Mattel at a M&G from last year - it’s always such a fun talking point!

11. Are you an early bird or a night owl:

Night Owl 1000% - I feel like I get so productive from like 8pm-midnight and then crash after that ahahaha
