based on a linguistic misunderstanding between me and my wife while in a loud building
"why is all the coolest shit nowadays being made by trans women" trans women are disproportionately extremely online autistic computer nerds who critically were able to conceive of society's norms being bullshit and are thus drawn to alternative sources of fulfilment such as creative pursuits
it's like the exact circumstances that created niel cicierega except it's just way more common nowadays and we're all women now
in my defense I've seen neil spelled both ways but there's only one way to spell cicierega
"Well, if trans men who are percieved as men can experience male privilege, how can trans women not experience male privilege in the closet" because being percieved as male is INHERENTLY oppressive to trans women? Being seen as a male is literally a form of oppression to trans women. You know that right? Being forced into the closet in the name of "privilege" aka not being clocked or outed is oppressive because they are forced to live as men to achieve said ""privilege"" which is their own oppression. Like the key example of trans women being forced into the closet because being a woman opens them up to transmisogyny is what trans women are oppressed for. Like it is the primary form of the way oppression directly affects trans women. That cannot be that hard to understand
This is transfeminism!
This is the most succinct way I've seen it said, and I'd like to add to it something OP already knows and non-transfeminized people should understand: the oppression of being seen as a man when you are transfem has teeth. Those teeth are increased suicide rates, depression, anxiety, the inherent trauma and horror of it (which can lead to so many other adverse health outcomes), and, for those of us who couldn't mask our queerness, all the violence and vitriol that comes with being seen as a faggot, as not man enough, as a traitor to male supremacy and a liability to real men.
Those of us who can mask enough live through the secondary trauma of seeing what happens to the others and constantly living a double life, which is draining in ways I cannot express. And all of these things can and do have economic consequences for those who bear them.

in space no one can hear you moan like a girl
Ground control here, we can hear you just fine
General tumblr reminder, since some people don't know: If the person's URL has "deactivated" plus a string of numbers (a date) after it, that means that they manually deleted their own blog. It doesn't mean they were banned. Banned blogs don't have "deactivated" after them and will just be the normal URL you can't click on or interact with. They look very similar and function the same, but they were caused by two very different things.
thats not true i dont think people would do that

The article above goes over the guidelines one by one, their effects, and keeps the focus on the sex workers these guidelines were made to target. Written by myself, a sex worker who has used Kickstarter to fund multiple projects. Please share!
