Today is the only day you can reblog this
One of the sassiest and most brutal things the German language does is use "noch" (still) as a prefix.
For instance, after the German national team's disgraceful exit from the World Cup this year, the news reported on how they arrived back in Germany with their "noch-Trainer"
(their "still-coach", or, in a better if more ungainly translation, "the guy who, as of the present moment, is still their coach... for now")
just so yall know
art block is your brain telling you to do studies.
draw a still life. practice some poses. sketch some naked people. do a color study. try out a different technique on a basic shape.
art block doesnt stop you from drawing, it stops you from making your drawings look the way you want them to. and thats because you need to push your skills to the next level so you can preform at that standard
think of it as level grinding for your next work.
As a scientific illustrator- this is 100% true and going to review your basics will fix it every goddamn time. Not only does it keep your skills sharp, when youâre not emotionally invested in the final product of a piece, you relax and your brain makes more/better art juice for you. So, when you get back to that big/important piece? Youâll know what to do and how to do it.
Nothing in nature blooms all year round. Rest, and take care of yourself.
i want someone to put this into writerâs blocks now
Writerâs block means you need to relearn the whole alphabet. idiot.
For writers block- same thing. Do Studies.
Write a description of an object. write the weather today. Write a made up characterization of a random photo of an actor from the internet as to the character they are in that picture. Write a little story about your petâs day. Write about spilling soup and make it super dramatic and tragic. Write about someoneâs day being ruined and make it funny. Write a meetcute coffeeshop AU of two OCs youâd never put together- maybe from different stories. Write them breaking up.
Write a bunch of short stuff meant for no audience ever and super duper self indulgent.
@sweetiepie08
@kanerallels
I found out relatively recently that it really helps if I write short fiction surrounding the novels I write. Like oh? Iâm stuck for a bit? Ooh there was that section I wanted to explore but doesnât fit in the plot really. There was that what-if that could never happen in the actual story but would be fun to explore. It keeps me in the charactersâ headspace (tho thatâs not always what Iâm needing) but not right where they are exactly.
Yes! I have gotten past writersâ block multiple times by writing drabble collections. Making something coherent happen in just 100 words is a very different challenge from writing a long story and it also lets me get past plot points that I donât want to explore in-depth.
I am also going to have to start drawing studies nowâŚ
hi everybody<3 my ankle's been broken since november -- the good news is, my surgery is (finally) tomorrow!! so i should be all better in 9 months or a little less. the bad news is, being injured is expensive, and setting one's place up for postsurgical recovery is expensive, and it's rent time, and workman's comp is great but it is not quite making ends meet. i could use some help if anyone can spare. any little bit helpsâĽď¸ thank you

really losing my patience for any 'feminist' statement to the tune of 'we need feminism because women fill a fundamentally different and necessary role than men and will be better at doing x y or z'. like actually i think we need feminism because it is an unbearable death of the spirit by inches to exist in a world where you are not seen as a fully realized human being because of a single cultural determination, and because a world that enshrines such things creates systems that are fundamentally sick to the core
recently saw a comment section full of people, primarily women, talking about loving living with their best friend and being sad about having to live separately one day. some people talking about missing living with their best friend, some talking about âgettingâ to live with their best friend âuntilâ they find partners. saw one person mention that moving out to move in with a partner felt like a divorce. it makes me so genuinely sad⌠all these people recognizing the joy they can find living outside the norm, letting themself live with a friend instead of a romantic partner, but still feeling like they have to live with a spouse eventually. like itâs not even a decision, just an inevitability.
similarly, it makes me sad when someone shares their happiness from living with a friend with others and the biggest response is people insisting/assuming they must have a secret unrecognized romantic connection. just taking over a moment of joy to insist theyâre wrong about their own life and feelings; all to reinforce the lifestyle everyone is already expected to conform to eventuallyâŚ

The reason your snacks are unsatisfying is that you need both carb and protein.
Carb starts your engine, protein keeps it going.
No carb, engine donât start. No protein, engine dies out fast.
Easy carb add on:
Cookie
Fruit (canned or fresh)
Chips
Piece of bread
Popcorn
Crackers
Easy protein add on:
Nuts
Spoonful of nut butter
Cheese
Roasted chickpea snacks
Glass of milk (dairy or non dairy)
Small canned sausages or similar
Sugar in there.
I am pleased by people messaging me telling me that after adding a carb or protein to their snacks or meals they feel more satisfied all day. Yes, my plan is working. People are getting through their days with less hangry.

Watching any movie before 2000 reminds you that people in movies used to be hot but like in a normal way
handing out flyers to transmascs about estradiol cream (can be used to keep your pussy wet and healthy but without triggering periods or having any feminizing effects) and transfemmes about Cialis (works even post-orchi)
and then telling both to start prep too
new blog same sexual health advocate. since making this post iâve switched from cialis to topical testosterone cream though.
If youâre transfemme and have POTS Cialis will also help your POTS more than any meds a cardio will prescribe you for it just FYI
Source: severe POTS while being a transfemme top lol
Iâm gonna come back here and transcribe some shit in a bit
Sorry the ADHD ADHDâd đ
So a while back I asked Twitter/bsky âHey transfemmes (or anyone vaguely adjacent) whatâs a non-medical thing you wish someone had told you sooner in your transition that you know now?â And got the following answers:
-For Black transfemmes in particular - Everyoneâs care tends to be different, but for mine (between 3c/4a depending) I wash and detangle 1x/w with argan oil shampoo/conditioner and curly detangler brush, sleep in silk bonnet. Knowing roughly what hair type you have will help you find more care, find whatâs closest from the following, but you may be between!
-Buy a pumice stone for your feet bc moisturizer alone isnt enough
-Go to an esthetician and ask for your eyebrows âcleaned up a bitâ
-âMore companies make different undershades of orange concealers, incl pinkier ones, at all price points. They can be used for all pigmentation, dark eye circles, shadow from hair growth etc. Your horomonal chemistry changing means softer scents smell different w long wear now!â
-âIf you a newbie, neutral shimmer that matches your lids swiped up to your brows + light mascara brightens up the face w/out requiring a ton of skill/cashâ
-âUse Lotion! Using a mild college girl scent will be good for your confidence and will ensconce the impression of "busy girl"â
-âYou don't need as aggressive shampoo/conditioner/holding product. Trim your ends or your hair won't get longer. Cute hairpins + scrunchies are widely avail at walmart, daiso etc and can help pull together a casual look, and specialty designs can be found via Etsyâ
-âConsider buying even one simple hairband for keeping hair/bangs out of face even when hair is in the awkward short-long stage while you do stuff like clean. â
-If you have curly/coiled hair texture look for larger silk scrunchies as smaller ones tangle in our hair easier!!
-âlook, sad-lil babytrans asciicat, you'll never figure out how people have money to do all the things to be so pretty - don't even sweat it, just buy a bunch of cheap skater skirts and feel free to lose yourself in the joy of wearing them.â
-âGlasses help a lot to feminize the face. As always, there are exceptions but delicate round glasses help this. Take a lot of pics to find your favorite angles, raise your head and/or try not to slouch in your pics, posing and posture is everythingâ
-âone of my biggest self love discoveries: just take the damn selfie. even if you feel gross, just take it - you'll like it in a few weeks. also it's okay to have favorite parts of your body. take pics of it oftenâ
-âThat nothing more transformative for my self-image than just doing makeup/changing what kind of clothes I wear. First time I properly got to wear a dress in public, and later when I first did my own makeup, it really hit and stuck that I am a woman. And not a bad-looking one.â
-âif you not super confident with makeup, but want to start wearing it, it's ok to start small. try glosses. practicing simple eyelining. a dash of mascara. "less is more" is a great rule for makeup in general, and it's ok to take time to find a look that best suits your faceâ
-âSnug period undies usually have a wide gusset and extra layers of material, making them a good (and much cheaper) alternative to gaff undies for tuckingâ
-âAsk a fashionable friend with a sense of style you admire to go clothes shopping with you, to help you find items that fit your frame. Barring that, keep in mind that high waisted pants and dresses are typically a good place to startâ
-âpoise and posture and movement are a huge part of presentation and can be incredibly empowering but also really painfulâ
-â- eye cream. invest in the future
- non-comedogenic lotion (especially after shaving) for less ingrown hairs/happier skin
- eye makeup BEFORE foundation
- halter necklines are very kind to strong shoulder silhouettes
- crossover dresses have more play in fit than many optionsâ
-âAccept well meant advice, but never let anyone tell you what is and isn't 'ladylike'. Also, Venus razors with those thick moisturizing blocks are magic when it comes to shaving any part of your body.â
-âGlasses are huge. Go bold; folks are gonna notice you anyway, it might as well be for something you chose. Get a haircut, even if you're growing your hair out. Hairdressers are wizards, and the shaping can make you look more feminine even if your hair's still shorter.â
-âI am cis but I come to you from years in the large women's shoes trenches, that you do not suffer as I have: Nordstrom Rack. Watch the calendar for the Large Shoe Event they have like twice a year. Zappos and its outlet 6pm are also pretty good, and Rothy's has extended sizes. Toms and Madewell also go up to size 12. Toms is known for the simple canvas flats but they also have cute,high-quality leather sandals and booties!â
-âif something gives you gender euphoria, DO IT, and do it a lot! youâll quickly lose the initial rush of euphoria, but it will help you feel centered and whole. for me, nail polish and comfy dresses were super helpful for feeling feminine all the timeâ
-âcurly/coily-haired cuties most likely already know but sleeping with a bonnet has been a game changer. as a straight-haired girlie, it keeps my hair from tugging as i toss and turn in my sleep, from getting sweaty, and my scalp doesnt get sore like sleeping in a bun/pony doesâ
-âthe big ones for me:
1. you dont have to do makeup most days
2. you dont have to dress hyperfemme
3. washing your hair every day is not good
4. if you're confident enough, people wont question your genderâ
-âThis is so basic (and not directly trans related) but no-one ever told me to use body lotion as a kid. I distinctly remember asking friends how to deal with body acne, and I got tips for exfoliating, but I guess they just assumed I knew lotion was a thing alreadyâ
-âif a piece of costume jewelry or metal hardware in a piece of clothing doesnât agree with your skin you can put a layer or two of clear nail polish top coat on the offending objectâ
-âif you're removing hair and hate shaving you may consider using an epilator. the idea is to not be lazy and use it often enough that you don't have to shave at allâ
I fully forgot I did this and seeing the days between my brb and my transcription took me tf out
