his biceps are almost as big as his goddamn neck, his thighs are like tree trunks, his chest is broad like his shoulders, the muscles that plane his back something you love to run your fingers over and watch twitch when he's overstimulated or when he's trying to relax under your watchful eye after a hectic shift
his freckles add to the playground his body becomes the moment he's home and safe from the outside world, the wrinkles around his mouth and eyes, above his brow on his forehead that lend to the fact that he makes so many expressions and feels so openly sometimes for someone who's been through so much
his fingers tangle in yours when you hold hands, out and about or simply sharing space on the couch. out on the back patio he's curated just for you once he found out how much you like to spend time outside. watching the movement of his arms as he put together a simple sun shade with a few posts and a swatch of thick canvas proven and reviewed to have uv protection woven into it had been the highlight of a hectic week
and then he'd gone above and beyond to hang up new plant and beautiful patterned shawls all around the space to make it the comfiest and coziest second living room for you basically. a new couch and lounge table were the second things you watched him expertly put together. his thick fingers twisting screws and bolts into place in order to get them secured properly with the tools had you standing there like a moth entranced by a porch light
his fingers are tangled in yours now as you sit atop his lap, his cock buried deep as the back of your thighs rest atop his, 'easy, baby, take a breath for me, you're taking me so well'
and of course he's thick here too, stretching you in the best way, in the way that only he can. he knows it too, knows how to provide- how to communicate- how to be the perfect partner for you and you love him, god do you love him. you wiggle your hips now, pulling a whining sound from him through a punched out breath, you lean into him and kiss him full on the lips, hands cradling his face as you do so. he looks up at you with those gleaming hazel eyes, bright with pleasure and your heart melts just as your stomach flips and your core tightens. he groans this time, brow furrowing as his hands tighten on your waist
'c'mon, move for me, please, baby'
and who are you to deny the man who does so much for you?

âyouâre sleepy. go to sleep,â jack chuckles fondly, propped up on an elbow as you lie underneath him, your fingers fiddling with his black sleep shirt.
you pout. ââm not. lemme keep talking.â
youâve been saying anything and everything for the last half hour, trying to stay awake with him. heâs used to staying up past four in the morning (well past), you just wanted to do it with him. but youâve been fighting sleep for an hour, now. cycling between rambling, at some point singing, and letting your eyes flutter shut, telling him ââm not sleeping, âm resting my eyes,â while he stays quiet for the next minute or so, before youâre jolting yourself awake to repeat the cycle.
he smiles, shaking his head. âdonât be stubborn.â he watches your eyes go half-lidded. âtch. there it is, see? go to sleep.â
you let out a drowsy whine, kicking your foot for added effect. ââm wide awake. lemme tell you about⌠aboutâŚâ jack counts about five seconds of silence in his head. âwhat was i talking about?â
âjess.â
âmm. jess.â you mumble, not fighting him off when he starts tracing little shapes with his finger along your bone structure. a grumble leaves you. âthatâs cheating.â
he smiles, affectionate. whipped, even. âyâcan tell me about jess tomorrow, sweetheart,â he murmurs, the deep rumble of his voice pushing you into an even deeper relaxation. âjust close your eyes ân sleep. iâll be right here.â
just to be a little shit, you wink one eye open. he laughs again, presses his thumb a little firmer against your forehead in a half-reprimand. âgo to sleep,â he says with finality. he doesnât get another response from you as your eyes flutter shut and you go loose in his arms, his thumb tracing along your cheek, finally asleep.
You shouldnât date or become serious friends/partners with someone if you canât stomach the thought of being stuck in a car or train with them for 16 hours.
You should be able to work together to solve unexpected problems like fixing a flat tire or getting lost in an unfamiliar station
You should feel comfortable and safe enough around this person that you can sit in comfortable silence
You should be able to keep each other interested and deal with each others boredom in a healthy way
If youâre gonna form a long term partnership with someone you should probably be able to tolerate each other while locked in a small box for a few hours
*pulls European closer* The most populous countries in the world are China, India, the United States, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Brazil in that order, with these seven nations alone making up 48.16% of the world population. You may note with the aid of a map that many of these nations are quite large, and would take several days of travel to go across either in cars or on boats. Almost half of the world's population lives in places where you can travel in a cramped vehicle for days and still be within the country. Your worldview is limited and Europe is a tiny outlier in travel time and standards for international relations.
i feel like it's absolutely crucial in the social justice world to take "he a little confused but he got the spirit" and similar sentiments/situations as a Win. intent is so much more important than saying it right the first time! if someone is approaching with scuffed language and incorrect terms but they're visibly being as polite as they know how, that person is a friend and should be treated better than what their words might invite in someone else's mouth.
someone who's confused but who's got the spirit has the best thing, which is respect. the other stuff is secondary. I'd take someone who's messing up but doing their best to treat me respectfully any day over someone who's using the right words to do me wrong.

I'm gonna say it, I do think that even the laziest person imaginable should have a roof over their head, food in their stomach, and access to healthcare
If you're writing anything involving cons, scams, heists, or morally questionable characters who are very good at lying, here are some free resources I've been using for research. Saving you the "why is this in my search history" anxiety.
1. The FBI's Famous Cases & Criminals archive (fbi.gov/history/famous-cases) has detailed breakdowns of real fraud cases, Ponzi schemes, and confidence operations. The language they use is clinical and precise, which is perfect for getting the procedural details right.
2. The FTC Consumer Sentinel Network publishes annual reports on the most common fraud tactics in the US. Great for understanding how modern scams actually work and what makes people fall for them.
3. The Smithsonian's American Art Museum has a free digital collection of forgery case studies. If your character forges documents or art, this is gold.
4. Court Listener (courtlistener.com) is a free legal database where you can read actual court transcripts from fraud trials. Want to know how a real con artist talks under oath? This is where you find out.
5. The Internet Archive's collection of old newspaper crime sections. Search for "confidence man" or "swindle" in papers from the 1920s through 1960s and you'll find incredible real stories that would feel too dramatic for fiction.
Bonus: The Psychology of Fraud section on the Association for Psychological Science website has accessible articles about why people trust, how deception works cognitively, and what makes someone a convincing liar. Essential reading if you want your con artist characters to feel psychologically real.
Reblog to save for later. Your WIP will thank you.

dating jack means there is an unspoken rule that he always parallel parks for you. it doesnât even matter what time you come home, because heâs always texting you âCall me when youâre here. Iâll park.đâ
pulling up in front of the house but heâs already in a light jog out the door, wearing his soft camo shorts and black tee, house loafers & backwards baseball cap. motioning for you to come out with his hand, a direct but gentle âget out, baby.â as he opens your door for you.
parallel parks with one hand on the wheel, veiny arm rotating it as the other hooks behind the passenger seat headrest. his jaw clenches and his sun-tanned neck straining as he looks back.
afterwards he hops out, jingling your shiny keychain and leaving a tap on your ass to signal you to head inside. âhow was your day, pumpkin?â

the room is cooled by the softly whirring overhead fan, the skin of your thighs chilled by having kicked off all the blankets in your sleep. despite the room temperature, you awake warm; you just so happen to sleep next to a living furnace. Frankâs burly arm is thrown over your midsection, his nose pressed against your bare shoulder as he sleeps soundly on his stomach. His beard scratches your skin, and the soft snuffle of his breath is warm.
Kind of like sleeping next to a big pitbull, you think fondly. You carefully shift to sit up, adjusting his arm to weigh across your lap instead. Leaning against the headboard of the bed, you take him in. Thereâs that crease between his brows, a grumpy, perpetual frown on his features even in sleep. Maybe he was dreaming. A good one, you hoped.
The range of muscles across his back are relaxed, but prominent. You trace the ridges of them over his warm skin with your nails, gently, and watch the creases in his face relax as some consciousness bleeds into his dormancy.
Frank wasnât a very heavy sleeper. Youâd worn him down, over the years together. He was a man trained to stir at the slightest bump in the night; the upstairs neighbor stepping onto the fire escape, the AC whirring to life after a preprogrammed period. A man whose nightmares steered him away from falling asleep at all. Itâs taken thousands of weekday mornings snoozing his alarm to get to the worksite, weekends turning them off altogether (who chooses to wake up at eight on a Saturday?) to turn Frank into a homebody. To convince him to spend weekend mornings pliant, limbs heavy and warm under a duvet like his were now.
So, he doesnât rouse immediately when you touch him. Itâs only when your fingers thread into his dark hair that he lets out a low sound, some mix of a heavy sigh and a grumble. Like a pitbull, you think again.
Frank only shifts slightly, his arm remaining anchored over your legs, but his face moving back to nose against your skin; this time, your hip, a move the hem of your underwear. The heatwave has you ditching your matching pajama sets, the ones Frank claimed made you look like a little Grandma. Youâd given his shoulder a smack for that one.
âMorning, sleepy.â You mutter, gently scraping your nails across his scalp. He grunts in reply, cracking one almond eye open to peer up at you.
You smile down at him. He manages a lazier, more crooked one at you, and drops a kiss to your hip. His eyes close at the contact, and donât reopen. When Frank finally opens his mouth, his voice is gravelly, slow to start. â..What timeâsâit.â
Giving the clock on his nightstand a glance, you hum. âAbout eleven.â A longer, more sustained grumble from him. Much time passes like that, your fingers against his scalp, him making little effort to resist falling right back asleep, periodically making quiet and involuntary noises, grunts.
âYour hairâs getting long, Frankie.â You murmur eventually, with a tilt of your head. Another one of those old man sounds in reply. âMaybe you need a trim.â
âYâthink so?â
âMm. We can get it done before breakfast,â you push the hair from his temple, internally considering the exact cuts needed.
âSounds good.â But, he doesnât move an inch. A minute passes, you in your own thoughts, before you catch his breathing evening again, and the subtle part of his lips.
â..Frank.â
âUh.â He grunts, a muscle in his cheek jumping. You bite back a laugh.
With your fingers in the hair at his forehead, you gently tug his face away from your hip. âYouâre falling asleep again.â
Frank cracks an eye, mumbling. â..mâawake.â
âOh, are you?â You canât hide a grin now. He makes an affirmative sound. Looking up now, you look around the bedroom. Morning light infiltrates through the thin white curtains, one of your many additions to his previously barren apartment before you. Where the sheets once only smelled like his cologne and faint musk, thereâs a hint of your favorite linen spray and traces of the nightstand candle you like to burn in the evenings.
Well. Thatâs all what a deep breath of the space tells you, before you shuffle out from under the trap of Frankâs arm and stand with a small sigh. You stretch your arms above your head, twisting slightly to relieve the sleep-stiffness, and glance over your shoulder at Frank. Still in bed, laying in about the same position, though your absence made him shift further onto his stomach. The difference is that his eyes are open, only slightly bleary from sleep, and free of any hard creases or hardness. The only lines around his face now are the perpetual ones, from half a lifetime spent squinting and grimacing. Thereâs a softness, a near reverence to the way he watches you, bearded cheek against the fitted sheet thatâs still bearing the impression of where your body was.
âYou getting up, or what?â You hum, dropping your arms to your sides and turning slightly.
Frank nods simply, eyes not leaving you as he props a bent arm under his head, tucks his chin into the crook of his elbow. âYeah, yeah.â A pause, where you grin and he huffs through the nostrils. He finally moves to lift himself up. â..Yeah. Getting up.â
â
âdonât leave it too long,â Frank reminds.
âI know!â You snip, both in tone and, well, wielding scissors.
He sits backwards on the closed toilet lid, his bare back to you. Youâve laid a dish towel over his shoulders, catching some of the brown strands of hair that fall as you cut. Being a hairdresser comes with exponential benefits; one being that you get to do your manâs hair exactly how you want it. He doesnât complain too much.
Itâs wet as you cut, you comb up sections to trim layers into with the shears you keep in the apartment. Your shared bathroom is quiet, save for sparse, unforced conversation and the sound of hair being snipped.
âCurt wants me to go back to one of those veterans.. group circle, things.â Frank mentions, offhandedly. He knows better than to give into instinct and bob his head as he speaks; with how long youâve been together, heâs been reprimanded enough to learn.
âYeah?â The subject would be touchy, if it were anyone but you.
âI think I might.â
âThat would be good for you.â You agree. The conversation doesnât die, but pauses for a good time. You move around him, taking more sections of hair with the comb. When you begin to trim the hair that falls around his temple, he turns his face to give you easier access.
You can feel his eyes on you, breaking through your concentration. You spare him a brief look. Sure enough, thereâs that unreadable stare. âWhat?â
Frank shrugs, eyes averting to the far wall, you, who forgot that you were supposed to be giving him a brief look. âNothinâ.â You squint at him, then back to the task at hand. Stepping around him, you dust some hair off the skin of his back and reach for the other side of his forehead. He turns his face again for you.
Still staring. Itâs practically tangible. You try to bite back a smile by the inside of your cheeks, cutting away as he speaks, âDamn gorgeous woman.â
You let out an easy laugh. Everything felt easy, when it was just the two of you. âTrying to compliment your way into a free haircut?â
Frank huffs at that, the corners of his lips turning up. âI thought livinâ together covered that.â
âNope. Gotta pay the bills, yâknow.â
â.. I pay those.â
âWhatever- turn around.â Frank shakes his head at you, but is unmistakably smiling as he turns on the lid to face you. He tips his chin up. That look hasnât left his eyes; sweet content. Comfort. Some kind of quiet love, that couldnât be louder to someone who knows how to read it on his features.
âYâthink I should shave it?â Frank mumbles, trying not to work his jaw too much as you bring the scissors to his beard. You scoff in disbelief.
âIâd kill you.â He laughs from the chest, brief and real. Itâs a well known fact that you adored his gruff look. You only trim the facial hair, and youâre done in a minute. Carefully lifting the towel from his shoulders, you shake out the loose hair into the small trash bin beside the toilet as he stands to full height.
You canât, and can never, resist raking your eyes down Frankâs chest, to his shoulders and arms; the movement of well-earned muscle under scarred skin as he makes his way to stand in front of the sink mirror.
He squints at his reflection, rubbing a large paw of a hand down his beard and turning his head this way and that. Coming to stand on tiptoes behind him, you reach up and shake out the freshly cut hair. He grumbles in interest, though thereâs a crease between his brows.
âLeft it kind of long, huh, sweetheart?â
You rest your hands on his shoulders, tipping your face up to peer at him through the mirror despite the height difference. âIt looks better like this.â He grunts, noncommittally, his eyes moving from the haircut to you. âIâm the one who has to look at you, Frankie.â
A smile, toothy and lopsided, creases Frankâs features at that. He crosses his arms around his chest, covering your hands on his shoulders and muttering with a slight squint at you through the glass; âWell, youâre the boss, mama.â

You wake up slowly, the first thing you register being warmth. It was solid, steady, protective.
Frank is still asleep beside you.
The room is quiet in that early-morning way, sunlight barely slipping through the blinds and casting soft lines across his bare shoulders. One of his arms is wrapped around your waist like heâs afraid you might disappear if he lets go. His grip isnât tight, just⌠certain.
You shift slightly, testing the space, and his arm tightens immediately. Instinct.
âDonât go,â he murmurs, voice rough with sleep, barely conscious.
You smile to yourself.
Last night lingers in the air, not in details, but in feelings. The closeness. The way he looked at you like you were something rare. The way he stayed, instead of pulling away like he usually does.
You trace a finger over the scars on his chest, careful, reverent. He stirs again, eyes fluttering open. For a moment he looks disorientedâthen he sees you.
And everything softens ever so slightly.
âHey,â he says quietly, thumb brushing your hip. âYou okay?â
You nod. âYeah. I am.â
He studies your face like heâs committing it to memory, jaw tense, like heâs bracing for you to regret staying. When you donât move away, when you lean in instead, he exhales a breath he didnât know he was holding.
âDidnât think youâd still be here,â he admits.
You kiss his shoulder. âI wanted to wake up with you.â
Thatâs what gets him.
Frank pulls you closer, forehead resting against yours. No armor. No walls. Just a man who stayed the night and woke up to someone choosing him in the morning.
He presses a gentle kiss to your hair.
âYeah,â he murmurs. âMe too.â
You wake up tangled in warmth, limbs lazy, sheets a mess that tells a story neither of you are pretending didnât happen.
Remyâs half on top of you, one leg hooked over yours like he claimed you in his sleep and never let go. His hair is a disaster, eyes still closed, lips curved like heâs already amused by something.
You shift just enough to get comfortable.
He hums immediately.
âMmm⌠careful, chère. Dat kinda movementâs dangerous.â
You snort and grumble a grouchy, âYouâre the one crushing me.â
One eye opens, cherry red on black, bright with mischief.
âCrushing?â he repeats, offended. âNon. Dis is cuddlinâ. Very affectionate.â
âYour knee is practically a weapon.â
He grins wider and adjusts â somehow making it worse on purpose, pressing intentionally against the inside of your thigh.
âFunny. Didnât hear you complaininâ bout my knee between your legs last night.â
You swat his chest, but he catches your wrist easily, presses a kiss to your knuckles instead. The teasing fades just a notch, replaced by something softer.
âYou still here,â he says quietly, thumb brushing your palm.
âStill here,â you confirm.
That earns you a slow, satisfied smile. He leans down, kisses you properly this time â unrushed, warm, smiling into it like heâs got all the time in the world. His hand traces familiar paths, unhurried, like heâs savoring the morning as much as you.
âYou know,â you murmur, âmost people make coffee when they wake up.â
Remy laughs low in his throat.
âChère,â he says, voice dropping, âI got somethinâ sweeter in mind.â
He slides down under the blankets, eyes never leaving yours. Thereâs a crooked smile on his lips now. Pure Remy. But his gaze is soft, reverent, like this isnât a game so much as a promise. He settles between your thighs, spreading you gently as his breath ghosts warm and slow, hitting your bare cunt, making you gulp in anticipation.
â and he looks up at you like heâs exactly where he belongs. The softness of that crooked grin sending shivers through your body.
âBon matin,â he murmurs.
Morning comes quietly.
Youâre the first to wake, tucked against Mattâs side, his arm slung loose but possessive around your waist. The city hums faintly outside, distant traffic and early footsteps filtered through the cracked window. His breathing is steady, warm against your shoulder.
You shift just a little.
âMm,â he hums immediately. âIf youâre trying to sneak away, youâre terrible at it.â
You smile. âYou were asleep.â
âI was resting my eyes,â he says lightly. âBig difference.â
You roll onto your elbow, looking down at him. His head is turned toward you, looking just over your shoulder, lips curved in that knowing little smile that always makes you feel like youâve already lost.
âYou know,â you say casually, âI expected more stamina from the Devil of Hellâs Kitchen.â
One brow lifts. Intrigue. âOh?â
âTapping out after four rounds?â you continue, thoughtful, âKind of pathetic.â
He hears the lie immediately, hears the amusement threading through your pulse, the way your body gives you away even when your mouth doesnât.
And he grins like you just handed him a winning lottery ticket.
âFour,â he repeats, savoring it. âThatâs tapping out now?â
You shrug, trying to hide your smile so that he wouldn't be able to hear it in your voice,âI had higher expectations.â
He lets out a soft hum, deep in his chest, clearly enjoying himself far too much.
âFunny,â he says, voice warm, teasing. âBecause your heart says you were very⌠satisfied.â
âYour hearing is overrated.â you scoffed, tugging his earlobe for emphasis, making him chuckle.
âMm. Maybe.â He tilts his head, âBut youâre smiling.â
Before you can fire back, his hands are on you â confident, gentle â sliding up your bare thighs as he pulls you easily on top of him. You barely have time to register the movement before youâre straddling his hips, his touch grounding, familiar.
His hands settle at your waist, thumbs brushing slow, deliberate arcs that make it very hard to remember your argument.
Matt smiles up at you â innocent, almost angelic, like he isnât absolutely enjoying this.
âWell,â he says softly, âI wouldnât want you walkinâ away disappointed.â
That hum again, low and pleased.
âGo on,â he adds, brown eyes somehow finding yours as they scrunch cutely with amusement, âProve your point.â
Your cup his cheeks and your press your lips to his for the sole purpose that he would be able to feel your smile," You asked for it, counsellor."
You wake up warm, pleasantly sore, wrapped in blue limbs and silk-soft sheets that smell faintly like incense and ozone.
Kurt is curled around you protectively, one arm tucked beneath your neck, the other resting light at your waist like heâs afraid to hold too tight. His face is peaceful in sleep, lashes dark against his skin, lips parted just enough to look tempting.
And then thereâs his tail.
Itâs draped lazily over your thigh â except not lazily at all. The tip twitches the moment you shift, curling, tightening, giving him away long before his eyes open.
âKurt.â you murmur.
His eyes snap open immediately.
âGuten Morgen, Liebes,â he says, voice gentle, careful. Too careful.
You tilt your head, âYou look⌠composed.â
He nods solemnly. âI am being very good.â
The tail flicks.
You bite back a smile. âYour tail disagrees.â
He freezes.
Slowly, he glances down. The traitorous appendage tightens around your thigh like itâs trying to make a point of its own. His ears flush a darker blue.
ââŚIt has a mind of its own,â he says weakly.
âUh-huh.â You stretch deliberately, enjoying the way his breath catches despite his best efforts. âYouâre staring.â
âI am not,â he protests.
The tail tightens again.
He exhales, resigned, rubbing a hand over his face. âForgive me. It is just-â He gestures vaguely, âYou look very⌠happy.â
âHappy?â
He swallows. âDeliciously⌠content.â
You laugh softly, reaching out to trace the fuzzy edge of his ear. âWell... you were pretty damn good last night.â
That makes him smile â soft, shy, pleased in that uniquely Kurt way. âI tried to be restrained this morning,â he admits, âOut of respect.â
His tail betrays him by sliding higher.
You raise a brow and snort,âYouâre doing a terrible job.â
He laughs quietly, giving up, pressing his forehead to yours. âJa,â he murmurs. âI fear my self-control is⌠limited.â
The tail curls possessively around your waist now, and Kurt sighs like a man who has accepted his fate. His golden eyes warm, affectionate, absolutely undone by you.
âBut,â he adds softly, smiling, âI regret nothing.â
Morning light cuts through the blinds in thin, pale stripes. You wake up first, tucked against a solid wall of warmth that is very much Eric Brooks pretending he isnât awake.
His arm is heavy across your waist. Protective. Familiar.
You shift and feel him tense instantly.
âYouâre awake,â you say softly.
A pause. Then a low sigh.
ââŚYeah.â
You turn slightly, catching sight of the faint mark at your shoulder in the mirror across the room. Two small impressions, already fading. You touch it without thinking.
Eric notices immediately.
His jaw tightens. â fuck, Iâm sorry,â he says, quiet but firm. âI didnât mean toââ
You roll toward him before he can spiral, smiling. âHey. You stopped.â
He frowns grouchily, âStill shouldnât have happened.â
âYouâre half-vampire,â you point out gently, âAnd you were hungry.â
âThatâs not an excuse.â
You reach up, thumb brushing along his cheek, forcing him to look at you. âIt kind of is. And you showed a lot of control.â
That does it.
He snorts softly, shaking his head, clearly uncomfortable with praise. âYouâre givinâ me too much credit.â
But you hear it â the tiny hitch in his breathing. Feel it in the way his grip tightens just a little, like the words landed somewhere deep.
You grin. âCâmon. Most people wouldâve left more than a mark.â
He leans down abruptly, pressing a kiss to your shoulder. Right over the bite like heâs trying to erase the compliment before it sinks in. Then another, softer one. Then one to your jaw.
âYou talk too damn much,â he mutters.
âAnd you hate being appreciated,â you shoot back.
A corner of his mouth lifts despite himself.
He pulls you closer, forehead resting against your shoulder, voice low but warm. âYou scared?â
You shake your head, âNot even a little.â
That makes him pause. Then he exhales slowly, tension easing, and brushes his thumb across your waist with surprising gentleness.
ââŚGood,â he murmurs.
You smile, completely content, while Eric Brooks pretends he isnât glowing inside over being trusted.
You wake up to exactly zero peace.
âMorninâ, beautiful~ wow, okay, still unfairly hot. Did I ever tell you how talented you are with your mouth?â
His mouth is everywhere. Your cheek. Your jaw. Your temple. Each kiss punctuated with commentary delivered at machine-gun speed.
ââseriously, Olympic-level effort last night, ten outta ten, would absolutely risk my life againââ
âWade,â you mumble, trying to surface from sleep.
âAnd the confidence? The enthusiasm? The way youââ
You pinch his nipple.
Hard.
âYOWâ!â He jerks back, eyes wide, then immediately breaks into a grin," Oh no. Oh wow. File that under unexpectedly into that.â
You roll your eyes. âPlease shut up.â
âCanât. Wonât. I am physically incapable of not praising you for-â
You cut him off by leaning in, pressing a quick kiss to his scarred cheek, softer than all the others.
âWade,â you say sincerely, âyou were really sweet last night. And you make me feel⌠safe. Wanted.â
Silence.
Actual, honest-to-god silence.
His grin falters. Not gone, just stunned. His eyes soften in a way that makes your chest ache. For half a second, he looks like he doesnât know what to do with something that genuine.
Then-
You blink, and suddenly heâs above you.
Pinned.
Your wrists gently but firmly held over your head, his weight settling between your legs, hips pressing just enough to make your breath hitch.
Heâs grinning wildly now, unrestrained joy written all over his face.
You swear - swear - you see little cartoon hearts practically floating in his eyes.
âWell,â he says, delighted, ânow I gotta reward you for how fucking cute that was.â
You groan out an amused," you slut.â
He leans down, nose brushing yours before he literally licks the tip of your nose, âAnd you looove me.â
You do, unfortunately.
You wake up before him, which feels rare enough to be a small miracle.
Logan is sprawled beside you, sheets tangled around his waist, broad chest rising and falling slow and steady. For once, thereâs no tension etched into his face. No scowl, no clenched jaw. Just calm. Rest.
It makes your chest flutter stupidly.
You prop yourself up on one elbow, studying him like he might disappear if you look away too long. His dark hair is mussed, lashes resting against his cheeks, brow still faintly furrowed even in sleep.
You reach out carefully, smoothing your thumb over that crease.
He snaps forward without warning, teeth chomping the inside of your wrist â not hard, but just enough to make you yelp.
âLogan!â you gasp.
He doesnât even open his eyes at first. Just smirks hotly.
âShouldnât poke dangerous animals,â he murmurs from having your wrist beteeen his teeth, voice rough with sleep.
âYou were asleep!â you accuse with a glare.
âWas restinâ,â he says with a snort, âYouâre noisy.â
You glare harder at him. âI was being affectionate.â
He releases your wrist, bringing it closer to inspect like heâs deciding whether to apologise for the faint mark he had left. His thumb rubs over the spot, gentler now.
âYeah,â he says quietly. âI know.â
Thatâs as close to soft as heâll get, and it makes you grin.
âYou looked peaceful,â you tease. âDidnât know you were capable.â
âCareful, darlin'. â he warns. âI got a reputation.â
You lean down and press a sweet kiss to his scarred knuckles â slow, deliberate, affectionate.
Thatâs all it takes.
Loganâs breath hitches immediately. His eyes darken, and in the next second heâs pulling you down against him, hand fisting lightly in your hair as he claims your mouth in a heavy kiss. All heat and hunger and unmistakable intent, tongue sliding against yours like heâs been waiting for an excuse.
When he finally pulls back, forehead resting against yours, he exhales sharply.
ââŚYou do that on purpose,â he growls.
You smile, completely smug. âMaybe.â
He snorts, already leaning back in. âSmart mouthâs gonna get you in trouble.â
"Well, my smart mouth made you cum three times last night, so-"
His teeth nips your bottom lip, glaring at you but the smile twitching onto his lips told you all you needed to know.
You wake slowly, cocooned in warmth and soft sheets, your body pleasantly heavy. For a moment, you donât move. Just breathe.
until you realize the weight against you isnât just the blankets.
Scott.
Heâs curled into you, his head resting against your chest, one arm loosely draped around your waist like he belongs there. His face is relaxed in sleep, lashes resting against his cheeks, mouth parted just slightly. For someone who always carries the weight of the world on his shoulders, he looks⌠peaceful. Safe.
Your heart does a small flip.
His hair is a complete mess, dark strands sticking up in every direction, and when your gaze drifts lower, you notice them... two faint bite marks along his collarbone, already blooming into soft bruises.
Heat rushes to your face as last night crashes back into your mind in vivid fragments.
âOh my god,â you mumble to yourself, mortified and amused all at once. âIâm such a horny mess.â
A quiet snicker answers you.
You freeze.
Scott looks up at you, his eyes shut tight as he gives you a charming smile, âYou say that like I didnât enjoy every second.â
You groan, lifting a hand to cover your face. âYou were awake.â
âMm. For a while.â His voice is still rough with sleep, low and warm. He shifts closer, tilting his head so his lips brush your skin. âCouldnât bring myself to move.â
You reach toward the nightstand, fingers searching blindly, and he takes that as an invitation as your body hovers over him more.
His mouth trails along your collarbone, slow and lazy, punctuated by soft kisses that linger just long enough to make you shiver. A gentle nip here, a teasing suck there - like heâs leaving reminders.
âScott,â you laugh breathlessly, finally grabbing his glasses and nudging them toward him, âYou canât even see.â
âMinor detail,â he murmurs, pressing another kiss before slipping them on. Once his glasses are secure, he looks up at you properly, that familiar fondness settling into his expression, âBesides, I know you pretty well by now.â
You roll your eyes, smiling despite yourself. âSo confident for someone who uses a laser-proof sleep mask.â
âHey,â he protests lightly, fingers tracing idle patterns along your side. âYou like my sleep mask.â
âI tolerate it.â
He hums, clearly unconvinced.
The banter fades into something quieter as you lean down, pressing a soft kiss to his mouth. Then another. You let them trail lower, over his jaw, down his neck, across his chest, feeling his breath change beneath you.
By the time you disappear beneath the blankets, his breathing is already uneven, a sharp inhale catching in his throat as your breath ghosts against the inside of his thighs.
His hand slides into your hair, fingers threading through gently - not guiding, just holding on. You were his tether.
âGod,â he exhales, head tipping back with a pant, âYouâre dangerous.â
You smile to yourself and take him into your greedy mouth.
You wake up warm and hazy, reaching instinctively for himâ
â and finding nothing.
Your eyes blink open, frown forming immediately as your hand pats the empty space beside you. The sheets are still warm, which somehow makes it worse. You let out a quiet, dramatic huff and flop back against the pillow, staring at the ceiling like youâve been personally wronged.
Then you hear it.
The toilet flushes.
A moment later, the bathroom door creaks open, and Peter pads back into the bedroom in nothing but soft pajama pants and a sheepish grin, chocolate brown hair still damp from splashing water on his face.
âOh no,â he says immediately, voice amused. âThat face. Thatâs the âI thought you disappeared foreverâ face.â
You turn your head slowly, eyes narrowed. âYou left.â
âFor, like, thirty seconds,â he laughs, crossing the room. âI promise I didnât swing off into the sunset.â
He barely gets back under the covers before youâre on him, arms and legs wrapping around his middle like a sleepy octopus. He lets out a surprised laugh, automatically curling into you, one arm snug around your back.
âMissed me that much, huh?â
You mumble something incoherent into his chest, fingers clutching his shirt. He smiles softly, pressing a kiss into the top of your head, lingering there. His hand drifts lazily over your side, warm and familiar, tracing over your hip and down your thigh.
âHey,â he murmurs. âYou okay?â
âMy legs are sore,â you mumble, half-asleep.
Thereâs a beat of silence.
Then Peter stiffens just slightly.
âOh,â he says, flushing instantly. He clears his throat, ears definitely red now. âUhâ I meanâ I canâ I can carry you? Today. Around the apartment. If you need. Like, totally heroic bridal carry situation.â
You snort, lifting your head to look at him. âYouâd do that?â
He nods earnestly, trying very hard not to think about why your legs are sore. He needs to remember you're not as flexible as he is. You seriously were put through the ringer last night, your legs being manhandled in every which direction.
âAbsolutely. Doctorâs orders. Iâm the doctor. Of⌠being your boyfriend.â
You laugh, settling back against him as he relaxes again, pressing another gentle kiss to your hair.
âStay,â you whisper.
He tightens his hold just a little. âWasnât going anywhere.â
You wake to friction and heat, your body responding before your thoughts can form. Johnny is behind you, breath ragged against your ear, every exhale hot enough to make you shiver. Thereâs a slow, deliberate pressure as he moves, unhurried, like heâs savoring the way you melt beneath him.
You groan, half protest, half invitation.
âEasy,â you mumble, trying to sound annoyed.
He laughs softly, low and dangerous, and shifts closer. One of your legs is lifted with effortless confidence, opening you to him, fitting you exactly where he wants you. The contact sends a spark straight through your core, your back arching without permission.
âFunny,â he murmurs into your ear, voice rough with memory, âyou werenât saying that last night. Pretty sure you were the one pulling me closer.â
Your breath stutters. The words do things to youâ do things with him pressed so close, heat radiating off his skin. Johnny always runs warm, but this is different. Sweat gathers along your spine, the air thick, charged. Heâs a heater, coiled and barely contained.
A faint flare ripples along his shoulders, light licking through his hair. He swears under his breath and moves quickly, smoothly, rolling you onto your back before the fire can get out of hand. The mattress dips as he settles between your legs, bracing himself above you.
âHold on,â he mutters, grin flashing as the glow fades. âDonât need to set the place on fire.â
His hands slide to your hips, firm and grounding. He leans in, forehead resting briefly against yours, breath mingling with yours, the tension unbearable.
Then he shifts â just a fraction â and the world narrows to sensation. Thereâs a slow, steady press, a shared inhale, the unmistakable feeling of being filled as your cunt welcomes him again. A sound slips from your throat as he stills, eyes locked on yours, heat humming between you.
Johnny exhales, satisfied, reverent. âYeah,â he whispers. âJust like last night.â

i know you like some good old Morgan x reader fics
so hear me out, in the early seasons we see Morgan do a lot of stunts and stuff, like s1e12 where he and Hotch stop that fist fight?
imagine, reader and Morgan are pretty early on in their relationship, but reader is staying over at morganâs or something
reader uses the bathroom during the night and derek wakes up, not quite that sharp yet and he thinks thereâs an intruder or something so we end up with derek tackling reader or something when they come back, leading to somewhat of a ridiculous situation, because reader is half asleep, literally just had to use the loo and suddenly theyâre on the ground with their boyfriend having not quite realised who heâs pinning down and in the end itâs like, well, that was kind of hot, but please donât do that again
Gotcha, Punk!
Pairing: Derek Morgan x Gn! Reader
Word count: 1.1k+
DNI: All are welcome!
Author's note: This is such a good idea, i hate you, why didn't i think of this?? This is definitely one of my shorter fics soo i apologize for that.. ( Ëŕˇ´Ë )
Still, as always, all feedback is appreciated!! Hope you enjoy ( Ë ÂłË)âĽ
Creak.
Derekâs eyes snapped open.
Creak. Againâslower this time, like someone was trying not to be heard.
At first, there was only the dark.
Not cozy, blanket-dark. No. This was the thick, swampy kind. Heavy across his chest, clinging to the walls, warping the shape of every coat hook and bookshelf into something not-quite-right. The curtains stirred slightlyâno windâand shadows from the tree outside jittered across the ceiling like restless fingers.
He held his breath.
Silence.
Too much of it.
The fridge wasnât humming. The heater hadnât kicked in. No faint upstairs pipes clanking in protest. It was the kind of silence that doesnât sootheâit listens. That primal kind of quiet that precedes something awful.
Thenâ
Creak.
The precise one outside the bathroomâthat floorboard. The one that always squeaked unless you stepped on it just right.
Morgan hadnât stepped on it.
You were still in bed. Youâd dozed off curled into his chest, snoring like a kitten with allergies. If you were up, he would've felt it. And that step hadnât been yours. Too heavy. Too slow.
That wasnât the fridge.
That wasnât the neighborâs cat.
That wasnât anything normal.
That was a âget your ass stabbedâ kind of sound.
He sat up fast, sheets hissing against the mattress, breath locked tight in his chest. Years of habit sent his hand flying toward the nightstandâ
Gun? Gone.
Badge? Not even close.
All he found was a glass of water and the sad realization that this was the one night heâd let himself go off duty completely.
Hydrate or die-drate, youâd said with a grin. And now here he wasâhydrated and about to square up with a ghost, barefoot and half-naked in his own damn house.
Another soundâa soft, almost polite shuffle. Then the quiet click of the bathroom door.
Derek froze.
Nah. Nope. You donât just pick my house to rob. Not this house. Not with me in it. You think youâre gonna sneak in here, steal my TV, maybe grab a chocolate bar on the way out and leave like itâs DoorDash? Not happening.
He moved like instinct. Muscle memory. Silent, precise, deadly. His feet glided over hardwood. His breathing slowed. Even his heartbeat seemed to hold its rhythm.
Iâve tackled unsubs through barbed wire fences, strip malls, and onceâonceâduring a bouncy castle birthday party. You think I wonât throw hands in my own damn hallway? In my socks?
As he moved, the fridge whinedâa sudden mechanical sighâand Derek nearly elbowed it on reflex.
He hissed under his breath.
God, I need to sleep more. Or maybe less.
A flash of a memory hit himâChicago. An unsub had broken into a familyâs home at 3 a.m., left the husband unconscious, and tied the mother up in her own bathroom. Morgan had shown up too late to stop the bruises from forming. That womanâs terrified eyes had been burned into his memory for years.
He wasnât going to be late tonight.
The bathroom door creaked open.
A silhouette stepped out. Backlit. Slow. Unaware.
Gotcha, punk.
He surged forward in one flawless motionâtackle clean, grip tight, momentum precise. Years of FBI training kicked in as he brought the figure down, pinning them to the floor with a practiced hand and a sharp growlâ
âGotcha, punkââ
âTHE HELLâ?!â
There was a pause.
A beat of silence.
A very familiar groggy voice.
Your voice.
Derek blinked down, and sure enoughâ
There you were.
Hair sticking out in all directions, t-shirt bunched awkwardly around your waist, blinking slowly at him like a confused owl. You squinted up at him, one arm pinned, the other flopped dramatically beside you.
ââŚBabe?â you asked, voice hoarse from sleep, face squished against the tile. âCan we, I dunno⌠cuddle in bed and not on the bathroom floor?â
Derek froze.
Like a statue. Like a dumbass. Like a dumbass statue.
ââŚOh my God,â he breathed, eyes wide, pupils dilating in horror. âBaby. Baby, Iâm so sorry. I thoughtâI thought you wereâJesus, are you hurt? Are you okay?!â
You blinked up at him again, unimpressed.
âI woke up to pee, Derek.â
âI tackled you.â
âYou tackled me.â
âI tackled my partner.â
âTo the floor.â
âYeah.â
A long pause.
ââŚYâknow whatâs fun?â you said, eyes still mostly closed. âThis tile is cold, and my spine hurts.â
That did it. Derek immediately scrambled to gather you into his arms like heâd just drop-kicked a newborn puppy.
âNononono, come hereâGod, Iâm such an idiot. I didnât seeâI wasnât awakeâfuck, I tackled you. Oh my God. Youâre never sleeping over again.â
You let him scoop you up bridal-style, but your face was already pressed against his shoulder, the beginnings of a smirk tugging at your lips.
âI canât wait to tell Garcia.â
That made him pause mid-carry. âYou wouldnât.â
You yawned. âOh, I would. Iâll tell her you yelled âGotcha, punkâ like a Saturday morning cartoon villain while I was barefoot and half-blind.â
Derek groaned. âYouâre evil.â
âAnd you love it.â
He deposited you onto the bed like you were made of glass and his own unrelenting shame. He fussed over youâpulling the blanket up, tucking it beneath your chin, running his hands over your arms like he expected to find bruises.
âYou sure youâre okay? Your back? Your neck? Baby, I couldâveâGod, I didnât mean toââ
You silenced him with a kiss. Lazy, warm, still sleep-drenched but affectionate.
âIâm fine,â you murmured. âThoughâŚâ You tugged him down beside you, a teasing glint in your eyes. âThat was kinda hot.â
He blinked. âHot?â
You grinned. âI mean, you did tackle me to the floor with surgical precision. Bit much for a midnight cuddle, but the form? Chefâs kiss. Nine outta ten.â
â...Nine?â
âLost a point for trying to arrest me.â
Derek buried his face in your hair with a groan. âI hate how much youâre enjoying this.â
âOh, come on, babe. Weâve had like two fights and neither involved a full-body takedown before tonight. Milestone achieved.â
âYouâre never letting me live this down.â
âTop three most dramatic Morgan moments. Number one: tackling your half-naked partner. Number two: yelling âGotcha, punkâ like youâre on an old cop show. No, I'm not letting you live this down.â
A long beat. You were drifting now, warm and safe in his arms, your breathing slowing.
Then, quietly, casually:
ââŚIf you do wanna pin me down again thoughâŚâ
Derek pulled the blanket over your head. âGo to sleep.â
every other week, my mom would make a giant pot of vegetable soup. she'd pack half of it in a tupperware and take it to her best friend's house. they both had three kids whose ages aligned. they'd lock us out of the house and go through each room, finding every piece of dirty laundry and then spend the afternoon keeping the washer and dryer running, folding and putting away each load while gossiping.
every alternate week, her best friend would come to our house with a tupperware full of chicken spaghetti. they'd stick us in front of a tv with a stack of disney vhs tapes and go through each room, finding every dirty dish, and then spend the afternoon at the kitchen sink, washing each dish by hand while gossiping.
it wasn't always soup and spaghetti and laundry and dishes. but it was almost always a meal and a chore. here is a night you don't have to cook dinner. here is a chore you can cross off your list. and here is a day you don't have to spend alone. because really food and friendship and a feeling of accomplishment are what we all need most.
