I guarantee you that your writing will be better and all AI is teaching you is now how to write like AI. u need to learn how to write like u. and if you look, you Can find people in fandom to help you. theres someone who can help you proofread your fic, or tinker with your sentences. someone to help you with code. someone to help u find the answers to all your hockey questions. and itll be more fun this way

i wouldn't say i had many fun things planned because johanna's life is so awful, but there are some interesting ideas i had and hoped to explore further. i still might repurpose them for other works in the future, if i can find it in myself to self-motivate. 😅😅
when jo is captured by the capitol at the end of catching fire, she learns that they questioned cedar. he didn't have any info for them, and as a capitol loyalist he pleaded to be granted asylum there in the capitol, but they sent him home.
district 7 citizens were furious with cedar bc they assumed he had sold jo out, so they barricaded him in his house in victors' village and watched it burn to the ground.
when finnick leaves for the capitol with squad 451, jo promises to look out for annie for him, but she makes him promise not to do any suicidal hero shit
while katniss is in the capitol, johanna can't be living on her own, and neither can annie without finnick, so jo temporarily moves into odesta's compartment. this arrangement sticks when they come to the capitol for the surrender
between prim's death and snow's execution, jo joins a team of volunteer exterminators in the capitol. they dismantle deactivated pods and kill the last remaining mutts
jo has a falling out with annie and peeta over how they all voted re: another games. mrs everdeen becomes a live-in caregiver for annie and johanna goes home to district 7
for a while after coin's assassination, jo HATES katniss bc it means the capitol games won't happen. her attitude softens when she hears testimony about katniss's mental state during the televised trial
i think jo exchanges letters with annie bc they both feel some obligation to finnick to keep in touch with each other despite their differences. jo also writes to katniss, and she visits district 12 every summer so she doesn't have to spend reaping day alone in 7

you get a comment on tumblr. it's a bot trying to scam you. you get a DM. it's a bot trying to scam you. you get a message on instagram. its a bot trying to scam you. you're an author and you get an email telling you how much they loved your book and want to showcase it at their bookclub. it's a bot trying to scam you (and it uses bad AI to pretend it knows your story). you get a comment on ao3 saying how much they love your fic - and they made you fanart!! it's a bot trying to scam you. you get a hate comment on ao3 which insults your writing or calls you a monster for writing something "problematic". it's a bot. but at least that one isn't trying to scam you.
there's just something really cruel and insidious about this wave of scams going after creatives. You get an email and think someone genuinely loved what you made but - no. It's another scam. It's someone trying to trick you into sending them money. On AO3, it might literally just be a bot someone made specifically to be a hateful little shit.
putting the stuff you've made out there for everyone to see is hard and scary and we're all just bumping around looking for a bit of appreciation and love and connection and these bastards are using that to try to rob us. I hate it.

Trying to write sex scenes is so aggravating because honestly describing sex is pretty boring. It's mostly just people putting bits of themselves on or inside other people's bits so you run into a lot of "they walked to another room" type problems where you can get caught up in just describing where everyone's limbs and shit are. What really makes smut interesting and hot, in my opinion at least, is sensory description but that's also hard because you'll be sitting there trying to find a new way to say "they were feeling sexual pleasure and it felt pretty good". Then you also have to figure out how to write dialogue that doesn't sound completely ridiculous and hackneyed. Really makes you want to just write "they boned down real good and it was totally hot trust me, it was definitely the kind of thing you'd want to jerk your shit to," and have done with it.
writing is so funny because i could write nonstop for 9hrs and then hit a block where im like "how do i transition between this moment and the next?" and then i just dont touch it for 6 months
