yanks are just so weird about what they expect queer culture to be in countries they consider to be part of the third world (i also hate that designation soooo bad because i swear it's practically just a "polite" way to assume a country is "poor" (both materially and culturally) because they don't even look up what it means and more often than not they'll just forget second world countries are also a thing and the actual requirements for a country to be designed in these categories, but anyways) because they'll just make it far more tragic than should be in such an alienating way while they assume that, hm, no one in these conversations may have ancestry or even may live in the places they vaguely refer to.
like for real they have no idea of how international laws work like and they never look it up, ask them a source they never got one, how weird? but eh, since i grew up essentially mostly only with my dad after my grandmother's death and the separation with my mom, i kind of had a vague idea of how eastern russians (sakhalin, close to the heilong river, pretty close to the anex of manchuria) are about being queer and hm, it's not exactly what they seems to think. our parents don't kill us right off the bat or necessarily do corrective rape or anything, but, don't expect much support or sympathy from them. some are more strict than others, but the forced impregnation they refer to remain marginal and is even considered controversial if it happens out of wedlock. actually, they might be more shocked by that than the masc part, especially if it's inter religious. if you actually want to make the family mad, put a jewish person and a muslim one togheter and see how they react, for obvious reasons. especially if the muslim is a sunnist, they'd probably even prefer homosexuality since it's mostly about the potential offspring. so they may not even lose hope yet, but it's still quite on thin ice in most cases. actually coming out is kinda seen as a lack of discretion more than anything in a lot of cases, it's very much some sort of "don't ask don't tell".
there's even records of people in afganistan who raise their daughters to try to pass as men to access certain privileges if they can get away with it. look up what is bacha posh instead of making up bullshit the next time you have to speak over trans women on the matter. in about every places in the world, even imperialist countries considering themselves progressive. "considering" is the keyword here in many cases...the worst experience that fucked my whole life up happened in canada. so...and yep it was very much a legal profiling case of transphobia (and racism (why i'm nitpicky about femboy which is just ladyboy or kathoey rebranded, let's.be.honest for two minutes, given the vibe hm they were kind of making fun of how feminine i looked more than being affirming let's be fucking honest, cops are never that progressive after all, no matter the country of origin), antisemitism, classism, ableism, whorephobia also, etc) but eh the community(tm) only cared about the transphobia. the rest they couldn't give a shit and now they kinda see me and treat me like i'm some sort of bad visibility also, buuut when it comes to exploit that one out of context like some true crime anecdote, well, then it's different. but me? i'm just expected to shut up and not make these babies uncomfortable with it, great community to be in, i swear.
so, to go back to trans women in comparison: their legal status is always precarized. always. everywhere. it doesn't mean that trans masculinity is inherently exempted from being marginalizable, but the amount of oppression they may face in comparison is always to a lesser extend statistically and, more importantly, legally speaking. it doesn't cancel out or negate the experiences of those who had it rough and had traumatic experiences with transitioning, but to claim they're more specifically subjected to transphobia than trans feminine people is a disgusting lie and i'm sick of hearing that shit. it's both transphobic, misogynistic and incredibly racist. It's just transmisogynist ignorance at its finest. get a fucking grip.
