gonna go on a little tangent but im so dissapointed in the wasted potential of fo4 locations where the concepts are pretty awesome but are only used for raider killing sprees. Like Libertalia and the FMS Northern Star would have been great opportunities to show how people created new settlements/homes/towns after the war, like diamond city but cooler The Northern Star looks like a cargo ship so imagine people living inside the ship and making homes out of the cargo containers and the LIbertalia is already a great setting but its just filled with raiders for you to shoot.

OH MAN the Northern Star is like. The number one wasted potential location in fo4 imo cause of this one detail that has stuck with me for Years-

The “”raiders”” are apparently its ghoulified crew- and that crew is Norwegian. No wonder they’re so hostile! They’ve been stuck on the shore of the US for a couple centuries now, with no way to get home, surrounded by people they can’t communicate with. Judging by their dialogue, they really just want to be left alone. And there is no way to ever communicate with them. You can’t, say, pass a check to indicate you’re not a threat, can’t go tracking down some way to communicate via, I don’t know, a norwegian-english dictionary in that library that also exists ingame just to be a destroyed venue for fighting supermutants, or finding a device with a translator built in or getting one built. Your only choice is to slaughter a bunch of trapped sailors who by the sounds of it just really miss their homeland and it’s something that’s haunted me ever since I played fo4 back round when it first released. The entire detail of them shouting at you to go away in Norwegian is just set dressing for another Raider Shoot-a-thon.
