Levi: He feels pretty obviously in the realm of the Slaughter, but I feel like is isolation could feed into the Lonely

Marina: Tbh the Dark feels pretty correct to me, not just because her father’s a dark priest, but the Dark has always evoked religious imagery to me. Probably not an avatar, but something kinda like Georgie.

Olivia: This is a pretty hard one actually! The Lonely speaks to me because of the isolation she experiences due to her disability, but also perhaps the Buried. Not because of any underground stuff, but how she feels stifled and limited.

Marcoh: HEAR ME OUT but the Hunt. Not him necessarily, but the family. Idk, they make me think the Mowbray’s, and Marcoh acts as sort of their unwilling hand. I can also see the Desolation because of his fear of destroying and hurting those around him.

Abella: Another one that I feel requires a bit of explanation, but the Corruption. It may be bugs and filth, but it also tends to represent toxic love in my mind, and though Abella isn’t quite toxic, she shows a deep want to start a family to care for, showing how love drives her. (Also the parasite is bug enough for me)

Daan: I also feel like he’s Corruption, not just because of his parent’s rituals to Sylvian, but because a significant amount of his motivations have something to do with love. Also I love some good relation between the blood and guts of being a doctor and the grossness of the Corruption overall.

Karin: She just SCREAMS the Eye to me, though her reports being recorded and shown to thousands kind of reminds me of the tapes.

O’saa: Now THIS is a Web guy. He manipulates the festival to his own benefit, and Nah’srah has his own machinations.

Pav: I was originally tempted to say the Slaughter for obvious reasons, but honestly the Desolation feels more correct. He’s willing to burn the world down, do whatever it takes, to get his revenge.

Samarie: Corruption absolutely to me, she possesses a deeply toxic love for Marina, and keep in mind all those Sylvian shenanigans in the Ninth Circle.

August: I think affiliation with the Hunt runs in the family. He kinda reminds of Trevor Herbert, but if he was chill with it.

Henryk: The Buried I think! Honestly I don’t know much about him, but his suffocated soul and his stifled condition screams that to me.

Tanaka: I feel like his family, tied up in business and all that, would be Web-aligned, but his clear disconnect with them makes him feel more aligned to the lonely for me, self-reliance and all that

Whumpee never wants to be weak again, so they push themself further and further on the training grounds. Seeking out opponents with a reputation for going all out, then for going too far. Goading their sparring partners into attacking them for real. Secretly conjuring up magical constructs who won't hesitate to draw live steel. Training until their callouses tear open, until their muscles scream, until they throw up (and wipe their mouth and get back to it), until they pass out in the dust.

And it doesn't work. They flinch at the sound of a sword unsheathing. They get sloppy and irrational. They get weak.
