iwtv seasons one and two was like being tucked into bed and read a heartbreaking story by Louis du pointe du lac. The Vampire Lestat is like your blackout drunk uncle trying to tell you an anecdote at a family gathering
how daniel molloy feels after trying to conduct an accurate interview about vampires, but his subjects are louis de pointe du lack of information, lestat de lyingcourt, armanipulator, and claudead.

if you spoke to lestat or louis about your pain, they would say, "your pain? what about MY pain?" but if you spoke about your pain to armand he would say "let me lobotomize you and you will never feel pain again." he has a solution-based mindset and we could all learn from him.
depiction is not the same as glorification and I needĀ people to get thatĀ
depiction from the POV of a character who thinks itās okay is still not glorification

Understanding a lot of art is about looking at it and thinking to yourself, "Someone made this. Why?"
This was made for me.
I cannot even begin to describe to you how deeply and viscerally I long to hold this object.
I know exactly why this person made this thing, and it's because no words will ever describe how satisfying it was when that Ziploc closed perfectly - absolutely perfectly - with zero wasted space.
I can only imagine how good it felt. I can only dream of experiencing what they have known first hand. Nishomoto Ryota has seen the face of God. They have touched the divine. They have stood at the gates of heaven.
Most of you think I'm insane right now. That's OK, because some of you... Some of you get it. This was made for us. For a special handful of weirdos and freaks, because we get it. Because we know why. This needs no explanation. It exists because it is perfect.
i bring an āexcluded since childhoodā vibe to the function

when i was younger i loved the blade and the hook and the tear of a tendon. for a long time i was feeding myself on pain alone. it felt like a needlepointed symmetry: internal anguish can be expressed in external injury. everything had to be hard and loud and fast and violent. i drove erratically and had rough sex with the wrong people and made terrible friends and let people feed from my bloodstream. the only way i knew how to handle the rot was with violence, to rip it out of me, to put my body down like a sick dog. in some mental quarry of self-hatred i'd try to blunt-force pickaxe out the misery from my brainstem; as if i could drown what was already underwater. i was perpetually disgusted by my own failure to comply. no matter how many bitemarks or burnt bridges or bloodstains or bruises or bad nights; i was still me. i was still hurting.
so who am i, then, to speak about softness. it's been years since i touched a blade like that, but i still wear the scars in the summer. i know i could get in my car and drive off the face of the map but instead i get in my car and i visit my friends. i could kill myself i suppose but how could i ever explain that absence to my dog, and besides - i haven't been to my own wedding yet.
all i know about softness i learned from the bottom of a sharp pit. there's a younger, hungry version of me, a growling tiger still unsated. every gentle thing is still alien to her. she doesn't understand the concept; it is abhorrent. she thinks it's boring. she thinks it's letting go. she snarls: i made a promise. we would rather burn out than go quiet, remember? i made a promise i would rip all the meaning from this life like a peach pit.
this is the meaning, beloved: today there are cherries waiting for me to eat them. i put my hand on warm moss while on the phone with shannon. i made a new matcha recipe today, and it's quite delicious. tomorrow i'm going to get in my car and instead of screaming or crashing it or disappearing, i am going to go visit my cousin.
in my youth i think i wanted to be loved like a bent needle - under the skin, permanent, an emotional scarification. i have been in the middle of broken glass my whole life. i think i replaced the concept of peace with the numb fear at the edge of a knife.
i know now i can only be loved as far as the sound travels, otherwise it's all just echo. i want to be loved like a purring cat, quiet and gentle. although she's still romanceable, i generally steer clear of blue-winged strife. she sits in the dark corners of my room, pouting, and i teach her how to do the laundry and get to work on time.
i open the curtains. i want to let in the light.
Was just informed by my mom that I do in fact have ADHD and the reason I thought I didnāt was because ever since I was seven whenever I got super energetic my mom would have me go chop wood so now when Iām feeling The ADHD I go chop wood and I thought it was just some sort of routine I started when I was little and wanted to blow off steam
Iād also like to point out that my sister has a really hard time staying present (I canāt remember the term because weāve always called it Tethered at my house) and whenever sheās feeling Untethered my mom has her knead bread and make syrup because theyāre repetitive and easy things to do that ground her
Now that Iām thinking about it- my brother has days where he doesnāt talk and doesnāt eat unless heās prompted, and on those days my mom sits him down in the fish pond in the backyard and plays Mozart and because heās so used to that being his wake up he always comes back in after like an hour rambling about random things
Oh yeah and when it rains my mom has a required hour where we all have to go outside and run around and whoever finds the most worms for the garden wins and then we go inside and my mom makes us tea and we watch Studio Ghibli movies
Wait!!! When one of us has a bad day at school we make a fire in the backyard and roast homemade sausages and my mom tells us stories until we laugh and then she tucks is in bed like weāre five again and sings us songs
Uh.... wait guys is my mom a witch raising a bunch of fae kids hold on-
āI didnāt know I had adhd because my mom gave me such an effective coping mechanismā is such a high bar to clear and she soared over it like a space-plane.
"my life isn't a crime, I'm not one of those people -"
"you sure? new parameters for Those People just dropped. check again."
And if you truly cannot imagine this, if you're convinced that it will never happen to you, consider this one thing.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Recent discourse reminds me of that cult indoctrination trick that's often used to weed out more difficult marks early on, where they tell you all that you aren't allowed to eat rice on Tuesdays and then if you protest they go "wow SOMEBODY likes rice a little much huh" as if you're the fucking weirdo who cares too much about how much rice is consumed between Monday and Wednesday instead of them.
And this forces you to decide whether your autonomy matters to you more than the approval of the group - while they'll still act like you're on thin ice either way, if you give in at this point they know you're theirs forever, because now they've established a foothold, you've shown a moral weakness, which they will brand you with so it can be used against you in the future ("hey RICE-addict here doesn't want help break into the city records office") to force you to double-down and isolate you further.
And if instead you do decide to push back further, after your abrupt departure from the group ("You're seriously leaving us over RICE?!? Seriously?") and subsequent ostracism, you can then be used as a demonstration to the others who were more pliable, of how the outgroup is full of people like you who are obsessed with violating the No-Tuesday-Rice rule to the point where they'll abandon all their friends, who cared so much for them, so it clearly isn't an arbitrary restriction, you're the kind of monster these rules are intended to protect them from, thus all the other wise and esoteric precepts of the charismatic leader are implied to be equally justified.
Honestly, Tvyek is pretty miraculous. Itās permeable to water vapor but not to water, itās nearly impossible to tear, but can be easily cut. Itās cheap and made entirely without binding chemicals. In addition to being used for wristbands, itās used to wrap construction sites to keep out water during construction, for tear-resistant envelopes at Fed-Ex, coveralls for mechanics, and my wallet, actually.
Fun tip, though it looks like paper, Tyvek is plastic, and cannot be recycled with paper.
holy fuc

A common theme in science fiction is that if you're in space, don't trust a corporation. And Earth is in space
