Having "a lot" of followers on tumblr is funny because probably 80% of them are ghost blogs who haven't been on here in like a decade.
It's like, no no, those aren't my followers, that's a graveyard! I'm the caretaker of a thousands of tombs. I love them, but they've been dead for seven years.
I cant go to my local libary anymore because last year when I stopped by a librarian was reading a book I wrote under a pen name years ago. This book sold under 10k copies and I've literally only heard people talk about this book online *if* I went looking for it so I went up to them and tried to start a conversation like "oh hey I've heard of that book is it good?" Like hoping for some real feedback and she goes "yeah I love reading things by queer writers" and in a moment of terror I was like "oh but- hold on, I thought the author was some old hetero white guy?!" A thing I thought because I used my own dead grandpa's picture for the author pic because grandpa never had internet. I fake looked it up and was like "yeah if he was queer its not public?" And without looking up this absolute unit goes "oh the author bio is obviously fake. I'd bet my left leg the author is a west coast millennial non-binary queer who has never lived on the east coast." And then proceeded to rattle off a dozen linguistic flourishes that are specfic to the pacific northwest that are in the book and several that are nearly ubiquitous in the state where I said my pen name lives that are somehow completely absent from the book.
So you know. Got read for fifth and didn't even find out if she liked it.
i wish i were rich because that way i could comtinue being Insane & Useless and it would be fine like not even a problem

I'm with you, I'm literally chaining myself to this dumpster fire until the end
There's something kinda funny about how RWBY just absolutely refuses to die despite a constant stream of adversity. The first season was objectively hot garbage but it still got a second season. The creator of the series whose passion project the whole thing was passed away in a freak accident after the second season but they just kept going without him and somehow a significant portion of the fanbase went along for it. The budget got slashed in Season 5 because of gross mismanagement but no worries! The fans stuck with it and they got it back for Season 6. Then a few seasons later the entire company that's been producing it went completely tits up and we all assumed THAT would be the end but nope!!! They got bought by Viz. RWBY has now outlived both the man who dreamt it up and the company that produced it. In an era where numerous streaming shows get axed after one or two seasons despite being critical successes with large fanbases it is completely baffling that a show that is so consistently troubled and infamously has an extremely mixed reception cannot be fucking ended despite all indications to the contrary. It truly is femslash Supernatural
guess what just got greenlit for a 10th season, 2 years after OP's post

reaction videos to movies and tv shows are kind of a guilty pleasure of mine but it's such a fucking gamble every time you decide to watch one. either you're gonna have someone just staring silently at the screen for an hour, or you might get to witness a genuine heartfelt connection to art you like with some really insightful commentary, or you're gonna be introduced to the most media illiterate "it's not that deep, the curtains are just blue" people you've ever seen in your life
experienced the starkest example of this contrast when i watched two separate reaction videos about obsession on the same channel a couple days apart (i guess it's one that's like owned by a group of people? not one i was previously familiar with anyway) and in the first they both caught on to what the movie was saying as soon as it was presented to the audience, and they were talking about the themes throughout which was great, and one of them was crying her eyes out at the ending because of how much she connected to nikki's experience. and then in the second one (with two other women) they were just talking the whole time about how bad they felt for bear having to deal with his crazy psycho girlfriend or whatever and how badly they wanted her to die. could not even make it halfway through that video because it was making me so mad i was actually starting to feel sick (and according to all of the comments they never managed to understand anything even by the end)
why do people think victorian orphans were like. the peak of sheltered pure innocence
"imagine feeding mountain dew to a victorian orphan" they'd probably appreciate the pick-me-up before their shift as junior osha violator at the accident factory
"imagine showing a victorian orphan vtubers" they'd say "this is boring i wanna watch public executions"
#that victorian orphan works as a chimblysweep to buy lifesaving medical cocaine and chloroform for his sister and yall dont even smoke weed
