Kate Kane really ain't shit fr.
Because how is she gonna run up on another woman that she actively knows nothing about, purely because she suspects she's sleeping with her ex? The same ex whom, after she saved her life, she proceeds to not only hook up with, but get engaged to her boss.
Then, once that engagement gets broken off, she decides to check up on the same ex that she openly admit to "keeping tabs on" (so basically tracking her). As she does that, she discovers that Renee essentially underwent ego death during the two years or so that they haven't spoken to each other. She's worked on herself, cleaned up some bad habits and calmed down a lot.
Good, so she's healed, right? Meaning that it's just about the right time for her to make a grand reappearance in her life.......but who's this other woman that she's running around with? Surely they're not together, right? Surely Renee has the sense to not associate with an ex-mafia princess. But what if they are?
Plus there's the fact that Helena's in the same ball park of wealth and looks as her, so inferring "you're not on my level" isn't as satisfying. So the next best thing Kate can do is pull rank. "I had her first." "I was her first everything." "You don't know her like I do." Pulling on whatever she can to feel like she has the upper hand in this argument.
However, Helena knows ball and so isn't scared off. Kate's met her match in Helena and she knows it lowkey, but she'll be damned if she lets herself be pushed out of the equation.
(Keep in mind that Helena invited her as back up for Renee, so Kate not only accepted the offer, but also barked on Helena purely because she was there. Petty ahh lesbian. Probably thought it would be just her and Renee, they'd do their usual song and dance and get right back together.
But Helena was there too and working with Renee. Kate essentially agreed to unknowingly third wheel them and she's not happy about it, so, like any military member, she needed to feel superior. Thus the whole "you're sleeping with my ex, so I don't have to be nice to you" mess.)
Like I know lesbians can be messy,but damn, Kate.
Lowkey I'm going to say something that might upset the fans but sometimes.... Kate reminds me she IS INDEED related to Bruce. Many of these behavior patterns he displays too LMFAOOOOO IM SORRY It's probably why Helena was stable around Kate and knew how to work with her even if finicky. Helena deals with the weird stick up the ass bat shtick on the reg.
Kate was definitely just waiting for them to do their song and dance and well... I guess she was right because currently they are song and dancing again LMFAOOOO
I like Kate, I do, but alas she must be stubborn and difficult. It's in the blood.
