Anti-zionists don't accept that their own acts are antisemite because they do not understand what antisemitism is (since most of them are not Jewish or self-hating Jews). When they decided to ignore the Jewish people about their own struggles, their movement was already damned to failure.

I've been observing a strain of antisemitism that goes like
Gentile leftist who never studied Judaism joins the Free Palestine movement
Notes aspects of Israeli aggressors that stand out as unique, including random bits of Jewish culture that Israelis would have just for being Jewish, that the gentile leftist has never seen before
Observes random Jews displaying these traits
Assumes they're deliberately alluding to Israeli aggression
Applies coercion to make them stop displaying these traits that amount to being Jewish in public
Believes the subsequent labeling of their actions as antisemitic is blatantly false because they were obviously opposing Israeli aggression
States that "anti-Zionism is not antisemitism" and gets general support from anti-Zionist Jews who believe in the literal truth of that statement without speaking to individual circumstances in which it is pulled out to justify actions
Comes away believing in a vast conspiracy of aggressive Israeli sympathizers pretending to be innocent Jews when they're obviously alluding to their support for death and destruction, that claims of antisemitism are being "weaponized", and what amounts to forcing Jews to stop being open about being Jews and hiding aspects of their culture is the only moral option

hello friends!! i got an anonymous question about how to write argumentative essays and decided to compile what iāve got into this sort of masterpost. so yeah, enjoy this! :]
types of discursive essays:
for and against- a formal piece of writing in which a topic is considered from opposing points of view. you should present both sides in a fair way by discussing them objectively + in equal detail.
opinion essay: a formal piece of writing which requires your opinion on a topic, that must be clearly stated, giving various viewpoints on the topic supported by reasons and/or examples. you should also include the opposing viewpoint in another paragraph.
solutions to a problem:Ā must be formal. state problem + its causes clearly, then present your suggestions and the expected results or consequences these might have.
a good discursive essay includes:
an introductory paragraph stating the topic to be discussed
a main body in which points are clearly stated in separate paragraphs and exemplified or justified
a closing paragraph summarising the main points of the essay, in which you restate your opinion and/or give a balanced consideration of the topic
points to consider:
present each point in a separate paragraph [a well-developed paragraph contains a topic sentence, which summarises the contents of the paragraph, as well as a clear justification, explanation, or example in support of the point presented]
well-known quotations, rhetorical questions, or thought-provoking statements are useful devices to make your essay more interesting [can be used in introduction + conclusion]
before you begin writing, you should always make a list of the points you will present
do not use informal style [eg. contracted forms or colloquial language] or very strong language [eg. i know, i am sure]
use appropriate linking words/phrases to show links between paragraphs
formal style [what to use]:
passive voice + impersonal constructions
a range of advanced vocabulary

SQ3RĀ orĀ SQRRRĀ is aĀ reading comprehensionĀ method named for its five steps:Ā survey, question, read, recite, and review.Ā
Survey
The first stepĀ SurveyĀ orĀ skimĀ advises that one should resist the temptation to read the book and instead glance through a chapter in order to identify headings, sub-headings and other outstanding features in the text. This is in order to identify ideas and formulate questions about the content of the chapter.
Question
Formulate questions about the content of the reading. For example, convert headings and sub-headings into questions, and then look for answers in the content of the text. Other more general questions may also be formulated:
What is this chapter about?
What question is this chapter trying to answer?
How does this information help me?
Read (R1)
Use the background work done with āSā and āQā in order to begin reading actively.
Recite (R2)
The secondĀ āRāĀ refers to the part known asĀ Recite/wRiteĀ orĀ Recall. Using key phrases, one is meant to identify major points and answers to questions from the āQā step for each section. This may be done either in an oral or written format. It is important that an adherent to this method use her own words in order to evoke the active listening quality of this study method.
Review (R3)
The finalĀ āRāĀ isĀ Review. In fact, before becoming acquainted with this method a student probably just uses the R & R method; Read and Review. Provided the student has followed all recommendations, he should have a study sheet and should test himself by attempting to recall the key phrases. This method instructs the diligent student to immediately review all sections pertaining to any key words forgotten.

Survey the document: scan the contents, introduction, chapter introductions and chapter summaries to pick up a shallow overview of the text. Form an opinion of whether it will be of any help. If it does not give you the information you want, discard it.
Question
Make a note of any questions on the subject that come to mind, or particularly interest you following your survey. Perhaps scan the document again to see if any stand out. These questions can be considered almost as study goals - understanding the answers can help you to structure the information in your own mind. If you are reading an academic textbook, it is worth noting that many introductory texts will readily supply you with questions that help to encompass the main idea of the section.
Read
Now read the document. Read through useful sections in detail, taking care to understand all the points that are relevant. In the case of some texts this reading may be very slow. This will particularly be the case if there is a lot of dense and complicated information. While you are reading, it can help to take notes in Concept Map format.
Recall
Once you have read appropriate sections of the document, run through it in your mind several times. Isolate the core facts or the essential processes behind the subject, and then see how other information fits around them.
Review
Once you have run through the exercise of recalling the information, you can move on to the stage of reviewing it. This review can be by rereading the document, by expanding your notes, or by discussing the material with colleagues. A particularly effective method of reviewing information is to have to teach it to someone else!
