The first Seekers' arc is so fucked from Vaelus' perspective, man. Fucking imagine. You're a priestess of a deity who was killed by the mortals along with all the other gods, you love her more than life and miss her every minute of your wretched existence, you and your entire holy order have been mourning her for decades. You accidentally stumble upon a plot that involves some really strange necromancy, you get involved in it just on the insanely tiny off-chance that this might somehow lead to resurrecting her. You find out a divine resurrection-based back-up plan had, in fact, been prepared for in case the mortals rose up and killed the gods before it actually did happen. Except it was created by a different god. Everybody secretly hated that motherfucker (or at least, everybody who outlived him did) and all of his priests abandoned the plan basically immediately after he died. Those priests' grandchildren are currently cannibalizing that plan's remains to make a fantasy atom bomb,
