This candle spell aims to boost self-love, confidence, and good vibes. Pick a ring or pendant to imbue with this spell's magic π
Materials:
Pink candle (any kind, I used a tealight but you could also use a chime, votive, pillar, etc.)
Anointing oil
Peppermint
Cinnamon
Orange peel
Pink salt
Pretty fireproof dish + small fireproof container
All of your rose quartz (or as much as you can fit on your altar)
Some clear quartz, optionally rutilated quartz
Moonstones (peach, rainbow, black, etc.)
Moon water
Smoke/sound cleanse your materials!
Step 1:
Fill your small container with salt (you'll be putting your candle in/on it) and place it on top of the dish. Place your jewelry, orange peel, and a clear quartz on the dish around the container.
Step 2:
Dress your candle and place it in the salt. Make sure it's secure and won't fall over.
Step 3:
Organize your other crystals around the candle in a way that calls to you. Light the candle. Visualize the energy from the candle and crystals filling you with light.
Step 4:
Rub moon water on your ring/pendant and repeat this chant 3x:
Confirma amorem et lumen et fortitudinem
Latin, translates to "strengthen love, light, and courage"
(hopefully; going off of what I remember from high school latin π₯²)
Step 5:
Visualize or meditate while the candle burns out. Hold your jewelry over the candle's smoke.
Wear your jewelry and cleanse/charge it just you would a crystal.

Every so often I stumble across the argument of "you should/shouldn't do divination before a spell," but more often than not it's from novices using divination to essentially ask permission if they should do their spell, but this can really weaken confidence in a lot of people's craft.
Divination doesn't need to be done before every spell, but rather than asking for permission you should be asking for insight to better curate your spell to the situation at hand. Many of us have a hard time sorting out what is wanted vs what is needed, and this is what divination can help us with in our spells.
Some situations in love don't require a love spell, but a communication spell. Some financial troubles don't require a money spell, but a road opener to a different position. Some emotional pain doesn't need to be healed and forgotten, but endured to provide growth and strength.

A few months ago, I created a Cleansing Jar that sits on the table next to the front door of the house. Every new and full moon, I empty the contents, clean the jar, and redo it.
This jar was created as a means to absorb negativity as it crosses the threshold; blocking these feelings from entering the house. It is meant to cleanse anyone who comes inside of bad feelings and thoughts and allow us to settle into our home comfortably. It appears to be working, as those of us who live in the home have been having far more pleasant experiences than before. We tend to be in better moods, unless something or someone goes out of their way to make us feel bad. Every night (between 9-10pm), or very early in the morning (between 2-5am), I swirl the contents of the jar for the banishing portion of the spell. When it comes time to redo it, anything contained in the water is banished as it is removed from the property.
Which leads me to the morning of May 29, 2026. I swirled the little jar and watched as the contents swirled around the jar, things I did not add dancing in the water. I was grossed out; I gagged a little. I also enjoyed that it seems like, based off of physical observations, the jar is doing its purpose. It is absorbing the negativity that tries to latch onto us and protecting us from it.
Now, I know that there is a mundane cause. I am perfectly fine with bringing up any mundane causes. Even though I physically clean the jar after emptying its contents, this isn't a sterile environment and dust or hair was still able to get into the jar. The salt and the essential oil attached itself to the dust. When the jar was shaken, the dust swirled with everything attached to it, giving the appearance of a, rather unpleasant looking, snow globe!
There are two ways to look at it in a way that encompasses the main aspects:
Dust/Dirt got in the jar
The jar did its job and absorbed any negativity that tried to latch itself onto us.
Seeking a mundane cause can allow us to remain grounded. It allows us to keep one foot in the physical plane while we search for deeper meanings on the spiritual planes. Looking at things from the mundane side first can help keep many from possibly going into a psychosis.
The magic side of things tell a different story.
Everyone in my house interacts with the outside world at various points of the day throughout various points of the week. Each outside excursion, while we wish would only bring positive feelings into our lives, have a tendency to bring about, at minimum, one negative interaction. This could be from something face to face, due to traffic, or some other cause. While we could chalk this up to Negativity Bias, we have all experienced a time in our lives where one bad interaction stayed with us through the rest of our day. These negative experiences add up and can put a damper on a whole day. I did not want to let these feelings, these energies, enter the house and fester, causing us to feel morose or other negative feelings. Those feelings, those vibrations, are absorbed by the cleansing jar. When keeping the magic side in mind, it makes sense to see the debris swirling as physical proof that the jar is doing what it is supposed to. It acts as physical proof that "it isn't all in my head".
That just sounds like Unverified Personal Gnosis, with extra steps.
And you wouldn't be wrong for thinking that! The magical side is, absolutely, UPG. Until the other members in this house feel or experience it the same way I do, it is UPG. It just happens to be one that has a physical aspect to it. It also happens to be a spell that harms no one and is barely larger than a random nicknack on a shelf.
So...what does it all mean? There has to be a bigger picture. What's the bigger purpose?
What it means: When a spell is working, you will see signs of it. Many of them will have physical signs that they are working, though they may not show as you had expected. It is best, however, to rule out any mundane reasons why something is happening (for example, why a candle melts weird could be due to a manufacturing flaw) before seeking metaphysical/spiritual signs.
What's the bigger picture? What's the bigger purpose: To develope stronger abilities to recognize the difference between mundane reasons and spiritual/metaphysical causes. Not only that, it can help solidify your experiences in more than just a UPG way. The only way to truly learn is to experience things firsthand.
So, let's look at a working spell the same way we would the scientific method:
Observation: What you want/Why you are creating the spell.
Question: What the spell is meant to do
Research: Create/write the spell/ritual you plant to cast
Hypothesis: How you want the spell to show it has manifested
Experiment: Cast the spell
Analyze Data: Let the spell do its thing and reflect on how things are moving in regards to your spell
Conclusion: Did the spell work or should you recast/try a different method?
Steps 6 and 7 are the areas that most people seem to have the hardest time with, because these two steps usually require patience in order to fully observe results. These final steps are where you are going to truly see your spell in action. Take note of how things seem to be evolving but let them do their thing without interference. Reflect on what would be occurring naturally without your assistance and what could only come from the spell.
Sometimes, a spell requires more introspection to see if it is working.
The more you become attuned to yourself and your abilities the more you will be able to see the physical manifestation of your spells easier.
There are some witches who will say, "go with the flow and don't worry about organization. The craft is messy and doesn't follow a status quo." They aren't completely wrong, however, not completely right. When you decide to enter the craft it is a very personal journey even if you belong to a coven or community. There is information you will need to find, on your own and tasks you will eventually need to perform, on your own. The best way to help you along is record keeping and there is no exception or alternative. So, what is record keeping in it's essence? Record keeping- when it comes to magic is the process of documenting and collecting information and items you will need to perform rituals and spells. You will also need to keep a record of those said rituals and spells, which is very important if you are just starting out. This way you can review back and comment on any progress. Make notes if the ritual or spell was favorable, unfavorable, and any changes you plan to do if you try it again. It is also helpful when you become advanced enough to write your own rituals and spells.
Where do I start? The best place to start is getting familiar with some vocabulary.
Grimoire : Serves as a reference manual of established magical knowledge, featuring step-by-step instructions for rituals, recipes for potions, and guides for creating magical objects (like talismans and amulets). It may also contain charts, tables, and lists of magical properties or ingredient correspondences.
Spell book/ Spellbook : A textbook of magic, which typically includes instructions on how to perform charms, cast spells, cleanse and consecrate magical items.
Some use these terms interchangeably. I do not. It is okay to "have one book to rule them all." I myself, prefer having two separate books because that's how I learned to record keep. For instance, my grimoire houses all of my miscellaneous information. Within its contents are my pantheon of deities, important days of the year, celestial events, moon phases, herbs, flowers, stones and a whole lot of other stuff. My spell book however, is just that- my spells and some detailed rituals that include magical intent are the only things written. I also leave a few pages blank between spells and rituals for practicing sigils and recording my progress.
If you're just starting and are a perfectionist or someone who sees organizing as a chore, 3-ring binders are the best. They offer great organization with the use of dividers and being able to freely move the pages about as you see fit. This way you can get a feel for how you want your information set up before transfering it to a journal.
Hi everyone! After a much longer wait than I initially intended, I have finally finished my book on herb associations, and have uploaded a PDF version to both ko-fi and Google Drive. Furthermore, if you're interested in a fully formatted version that is suitable for book-binding, I have added a $2 listing for that as well. If you're not into that, no worries! I am absolutely fine just providing it for free.
I decided to create this project after finding myself largely dissatisfied by the information available on the mass market--often being Wicca leaning or at least heavily influenced. I decided I wanted to create a (mostly) non-denominational, secular, baneful magic friendly resource guide. Because I largely sourced from other practitioners or the internet, I wanted to provide this for free, as the information is not inherently my intellectual property. The reason why I do have a paid version is purely for the effort I went through, and only if you feel like supporting me.
Again, this book is NOT my intellectual property, and this information is readily available online, I just decided to put all of it in one place.

[Alt Title: To Return Negativity (Such as "the Evil Eye" or "the Gaze"]
To protect your home from negativity or unwanted attention originating from a jealous or malicious person, create a baneful Witchβs Bottle to return all negativity to its origin in the form of ill luck and poor health.Β
Note: This is not a curse; nor is it a hex/jinx. It is a protective spell with a baneful element. This means that the baneful qualities of this bottle will not be activated unless they are triggeredΒ by the actions of someone else. You do not need to know the identity of the person to use this spell; nor do you need to focus this spell on one particular person. It is effective for any and all negative energy and ill wishes.Β
Gather:
three cloves of garlic or pearl onions
sea salt
protective herbs, optional (pulverized into a powder)
graveyard dirt or headstone moss, optional
nails, pins, broken glass or needles, optional
a small jar with a lid
red thread, optional
candles for sealing
an awl, candle scribe, nail or other sharp implement for inscribing
Step One: Prepare, cleanse, and awaken your items however you normally would. When ready, inscribe an open eye onto each of the cloves/onions. Remove any peel that obstructs the eye from view.Β
Step Two: Place the cloves/onions in a jar and cover them with sea salt. Add any extra herbs, dirt or components you desire for protection. Place the lid on the jar and, if desired, tie the red thread around the jar. Seal with wax.Β
Step Three: Keep at the entrance of the home, on the hearth altar, or under the bed.
PLEASE STOP MAKING WITCHCRAFT GRAPHICS WITH AI. YOU HAVE TO STOP. STOP IT NOW. BOOOOO AI. IT IS HORRIBLE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING THE CRAFT IS ABOUT. STOP FUCKING USING AI.

One of my fav sections to work on in my grimoire is my Wheel of the Year, specifically the parts where I keep track of my personal associations for each season. Itβs been a work in progress for over a year now and I just decided to get more detailed with it going forward!
It helps me feel really connected to nature to be slowly documenting how I experience the change of the seasons where I live βοΈπΈβοΈπ

It's believed that the Carmelite order of monks or nuns created this water somewhere in the seventeenth century. Spiritually, this potion is used as a road opener (removing blocks), cleanser (banishing and removing energy), and for blessings.
Ingredients
1 cup lemon balm
1/2 cup angelica leaves and stems, chopped
1 tablespoon cloves
1 lemon, zested
1/2 tablespoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
4 cups vodka, gin or brandy
Place the dry ingredients in a 1-quart glass jar, and add the alcohol. Stir and shake well. Place in a cool, dry place and let steep for two weeks. Strain through cheesecloth into a new jar. It will keep for up to four months.
Dosage: one tablespoon daily as needed to soothe anxiety.
I want to make a safe travels sigil and possibly a sachet later today. Something I can hang from my car's review mirror. I'll have to see what I have on hand.
Stinky tumblr went ahead and ate the second week's Weekly Spellwork Dice spell, so I'm going to post it again, and hopefully it will work this time
Welcome to the second installment of Weekly Spellwork Dice Spells! Hereβs how it works:
There are four six-sided dice. Die 1 determines the intention of the spell. Die 2 determines the type of magic used in the spell. Die 3 tells us magical tool the dice suggest. Die 4 tells us what the magical tip for the spell. The combination of all these dice answers help us make the spell.
The Spellwork Dice hath spoken! And they call for aβ¦
Love spell!
Die 1 decided the intention for the weekly spell should be love.
Die 2 told us to use divination! Maybe divine who your soulmate is or ask your tarot deck why it finds you awesome!
Die 3 tells us to use the crystals as a tool to make the love spell work. Maybe use a grid with crystals that carry the intention of the spell, or even wear one as an amplifier for your intention!
Die 4 tips us off to use the days of the week! Friday is ruled by Venus, the planet associated with love in astrology and the Roman goddess of love! Also, look into the other days of the week. Maybe you want to be more in-tune with yourself or start loving yourself a little more; Monday's, ruled by the Moon, are great for that!
Now, go ahead and do the spell if you feel called to do so! Let me know how it went either in the comments or an ask! Goodnight, my witchlings~

As summer is approaching, I thought I'd post about my witchcraft practice at the beach...
π Use the sea water to cleanse your body and soul. Breathe in deeply, dive in, and spend a few seconds underwater to recite in your head "I'm getting rid of anything that isn't serving me, and release it all to the ocean".
π Draw sigils onto the sand. It's a simple one, but can be quite powerful, especially if you keep on drawing it repeatedly as you sunbathe.
π Whisper a protection spell as you apply suncream. This isn't just about protecting yourself from UV light. This simple act of self-care can ward off much more than that.
π Collect shells for your altar. I think this one is my favourite. I'm always on the lookout for small items with strong significance to decorate my altar. Shells are the perfect items to have in preparation for Midsummer.
π Sand has a strong association to time. Use it for any spells that require you to slow down and be in the present. Depending on where you are, the sand between your hands may be a thousand years old!
π Meditate at sunrise, facing towards the ocean. Repeat wishes and manifestations while breathing in the salt air. If you ask something of the waves, you might just get it.
π Keep ocean water in a jar, and only use it for your most potent spells. Ocean water is associated with vastness, fear, power, life, protection. Use it wisely.
On the candle carve the amount of money you want to make, carve the name of the job position you want, if on a deadline write the date you need it by.
Anoint the candle with the olive oil and cinnamon.
Mix the rosemary in the brown sugar and create a candle stand.
Please note sugar is flammable so this needs to be in a safe place and monitored
Light the candle and let it burn fully
"Money is sweet on me, success is courting me, my pockets are deep and overflowing" are affirmations suggested to go with this spell.
Continue your job search secure in your knowledge the position you want is coming your way in a timely manner.
Disposal of the spell ingredients:
Bury them
Leave them in a cross roads
Place them on train tracks
Pray to the Roman goddess of toliets and flush them
I've been unemployed for over 16 months now but have been mentally and physically blocked from making up a spell myself. So my therapist gave me hers to try.
