Batman: Year One - A classic story detailing Bruce’s first year as Batman, and how he met Jim Gordon.

Batman: The Long Halloween - Batman, in his earlier years, is trying to discover the identity of a murderer by the name of “Holiday.” Also serves as a Two Face origin story.

Batman: Dark Victory - A continuation of The Long Halloween, featuring Dick as Robin!

Batman: Ego - A oneshot that delves into Bruce’s mind and the dichotomy of Bruce Wayne v Batman

not included in this list but important to this reading order: A Death in the Family, A Lonely Place of Dying, Robin (1991), Sword of Azrael (1992)

Post-Crisis is what really cemented the idea of a “Bat Family” and shaped their dynamic as we know it today, so I always recommend it to people looking into multiple Batman characters, or the more “familial” dynamic.
