Semi Hiatus

To me, it’s obvious that Ola from Sex Education is non-binary or at least somewhere on the trans spectrum, and I expect that we’ll see more of this in s2 (if we get one).

She’s* at least half-swedish and Ola is a male name in Sweden. Her father doesn’t seem like the type to break the gender binary and name his daughter Ola. It’s obviously a chosen name. I wouldn’t think twice of it if it wasn’t for all the other stuff but with the rainbows, suit and gender-neutral haircut, I think it’s obvious that they’re portraying her as lgbt, and her choice of name makes me think that she’s trans.

It started like this:

- "I don't understand who votes in ESC, it's a waste of money. Who cares about who wins?"

10 minutes later:

- "If Iceland gives them 12 points, I'm gonna change my name so no one can tell that I have ancestors from Iceland"

- "WHAT'S WRONG WITH HIM!?" (@the poor guy who presented the points from Ireland, I had to explain that it wasn't his fault, he was just presenting the results of the vote)

- "THEY CAN'T VOTE FOR THEM! They're supposed to be racist!"

- "Em, LOOK!!! YES YES YES!"

- "Our neighbouring countries obviously hates us, they didn't give us enough votes."

- "SHHHH! SHUT UP!" (At my dog)

- "Dear god..." (He isn't religious at all)

- "If we win, I'm gonna go outside and scream that we won Eurovision."

- "Poor Australia, they're the only country who likes ESC and they got such low points."

- "FUCK!!!"

- "I hope a terrible song wins since we already lost."

- "I hope the chicken pickin' song wins"

- "This is terrible, how could we place behind Italy and Germany?"

- "This was supposed to be the best day in a long while but it ended up being terrible..."

- "I'm so disappointed. I was looking forward to celebrating all night."

- [about the winner] "This proves that anyone can create music. Remember when we watched those children perform? It reminds me of that."

I figured that if my body is gonna make me suffer, I might as well make it suffer. The thing about running is that it really doesn't matter what your body looks like. You just need to get enough air and energy to move forward. And when you're struggling to take another step or trying to breathe, there's really no room for feeling dysphoric.
