Floating:

A good strategy, that if done well, can lead to an easy victory and being in good with everyone in the house, while never needing to get your hands dirty. 

KEY DETAIL: this player is only truly aligned with themselves, they will form alliances with everyone and do what it takes to ride the middle. They may win competitions but only to further their own game, while also making the least amount of waves. this strategy is incredibly hard to pull off (and win with) because of how behind the scene this player must be and how essentially this player needs to be able to betray almost all of their temporary allies to make it to the end)

Examples: Paras Atashnak (BBCAN6), Jun Song/Alison Irwin (BB4), Andy Herren (BB15), Shelly Moore (BB13), JC Mounduix (BB20) (this is debatable but he has been floating all game and although he leans more towards  L6, hes still a floater)

Coasting:

A deplorable “”strategy”” that sees a player have no general impact on the game, other than being a number for one ally the entire game, 

KEY DETAIL: this player is usually only aligned with one alliance all game and doesnt really do much. these players can ALSO win competitions but usually have no major impact on the game, these players are USUALLY called floaters, and this is because of Rachel’s “floaters grab a life vest” speech during BB12. which resulted in the term changing its definition. Coasting is a subsection of Floating, but it is usually never intentional

Examples: Maddy Popplett (BBCAN6), Raven Walton/Matt Clines/Christmas Abbott/Josh Martinez (BB19), Kaycee Clark (BB20), Jordan Lloyd (BB11)

TL:DR;

THE FLOATER IS A PURPOSEFUL UTR STRATEGY THAT REQUIRES SOCIAL FINESSE AS WELL AS AN ABILITY TO WIN A COMPETITION TO BETTER YOURSELF IN DIRE SITUATIONS. THE COASTER IS A SEQUENTIAL UTR “STRATEGY” THAT USUALLY TAKES THE CONTROL OUT OF THEIR HANDS AND INTO THEIR ALLIES, WITH THEIR BIGGEST IMPACT USUALLY ONLY BEING A VOTE.
