all noah drama aside, can we talk about how concerned engel was that liv wasn’t eating? and how annoyed she got at janna for stealing the rice cakes out her hands. it made the whole thing so realistic but it also showed that engel has definitely picked up on something, probably because of her own experiences. once again, vilde/engel is way smarter than everyone assumes.

It’s so annoying that Skam Austin used immigration reform as a plot point even though they have three latino characters on this show who this would affect in real life. On top of that, it was used to show how great Grace, Eve, and Daniel are because “they care about immigrants.” Throughout the show, it’s been unintentionally shown that Grace’s feminism is very limited though. Daniel only showed concern because Grace went on a mini rant about the children at the border, and she only did that to seem like she was on some moral high ground. Maybe Eve did actually care since we haven’t been shown anything proving otherwise, but why did they make a white character be the one to care? Skam Austin just shows over and over how ignorant the people behind it are, but they put up a woke facade. Grace talking about the pay gap, using woke tumblr words, and wearing cute feminist shirts doesn’t automatically make the show progressive. Especially when they continuously treat their minority character horribly.
