“No, it’s not that.  It’s uh…”  He couldn’t maintain eye contact.   “What would you say if it wasn’t a girl?”

      Gale laughed.             “No, not Madge.                     Someone else.”

          “No, I’m not mad.  I was just thinking about.. a girl.”

“I’m sorry.” Came his whispered apology as he hugged her tightly, chin resting on her shoulder. And he sounds sincere about it because he didn’t mean to scare or upset Katniss. Ever.

Embracing him tighter, she nuzzles into his blond hair. Inhaling his scent; confirming it was alright and he was fine. “Yeah well, don’t let it happen again or I might actually end up killing you next time for scaring me to death.” she jokes towards his first comment, pulling a little back and allowing a small smile lift itself upon her features.

“Relax, it’s a joke.  I didn’t mean to stare   I was thinking about something else.”

                    “You know, I would but unlike you,                               I’m too poor to afford a camera.”

A slight pause before a small shake of his head. “No.”

Her gaze simply bores into him, only because she cares a lot for his life and he’d gone risking it. “Yes, you do. This isn’t funny Peeta.” she’s sharp to reply, only for her gaze to soften. Although she had a good reason to, she hated nearly yelling at him. Without further doing so, she steps closer and tightly embraces him instead.

“Clearly you’re rubbing off on me; you’re normally the one that has a death wish.”

     “Almost. But we’re alive, aren’t we? I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t think      there was no other way.”

“Almost. Next time we might not be so lucky.”

“No, but I’m never certain if what I hear is inside my head alone or not. Are they comng for us?”
