When someone says they love you "for who you are" or "because you're you" that's not a cop-out or a non-answer. You are being told in no uncertain terms that you are loved for something that's not gonna change overnight. You can stop being funny. You can lose your skills. You can cease to be beautiful in the ways you currently are. But you can't stop being you. And therefore you can't stop being loved.

How on earth would they be able to tell that a bear is trans. I’m not saying they can’t be but how would they communicate that.

In like 1998 my very femme lesbian friend went to Pride in London and was all excited at the “teddy bears picnic” happening in one of the city parks. She took along a picnic hamper and her cuddly teddy bear. Needless to say, the large hairy gay men all thought she was adorable and she had a great time

my tumblr mutuals will take characters from media that is not very good & construct such rich & intricate inner worlds for them in their posts that i will go wow that sounds so compelling let me go check this out….& then the canon character will be like. relatively boring with very little interiority. but that’s okay because sometimes the real character is the one my tumblr mutuals hallucinated along the way….

as you get older, you start realizing that you are not always right and there’s a lot of things you could have handled better and many situations where you could have been kinder and all you can really do is forgive yourself and let your mistakes make you a better person.
