Grindelwald’s Haircut.
While we think of the undercut as a modern style, it was an incredibly popular look in the ‘20s, when “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find them” is set.
The connection between Nazi fascism and this particular type of undercut is pretty obvious. Just look at this pictures.
So of course Grindelwald and his followers are wearing undercuts; after all, he committed unspeakable acts of terrorism to create a new world order where wizards would rule over Muggles rather than hide from them — and where he would be the benevolent dictator at the very top.
It shows that the “Fantastic Beasts” costume designers really know their stuff — and that maybe it’s best to look up the history of a hairstyle before you say “where is Grindelwald’s curly and long blonde hair’’ one more time.
