something i often wonder about is genetics masking "typical features" of certain genetic conditions... for example, a pinched nose is apparently a typical feature of a certain kind of EDS, but what if your parents have broad noses and so yours just looks kind of average? being able to touch your tongue to your nose is common for people with EDS but i inherited a tied tongue from my dad so i can't even stick my tongue out the normal amount... certainly there will always be people with obvious presentation, but how many people technically have that feature but it's being masked by other genetic traits?
