Oughhh I’m nervioso for this one chat…
I took a BIG risk with this re-redesign of our lord and mayor. But, here he is!
ITS SYYYYYYYY‼️‼️ … omg wtf happened to him 💔
So as you can see, there is a big BIG addition I gave him, and that was giving him a big ol’ fuckin burn scar on his face! Sy has always had a burn scar on him, but you couldn’t ever see it because it was on his left upper arm, and I wanted it to be visible! So I figured, why not just give him the burn scar, but make it BIGGER!!!! You’ll see it on the initial practice drawing down at the bottom of this post, but his burn scar goes from the left side of his face, to his shoulder, and on his upper arm! I also made sure to fuck up his left eye too, making the sclera bloodshot and the pupil opaque. And yes, he is completely blind on that eye. In general his face is just completely fucked, he’s giving Alice Angel ngl. And honesty he just looks like a corpse on that side.
For how that even happened to him, the burn was caused by chemical waste that was being transferred through a pipe bursting from said pipe, and juvenile Sy was unfortunately right next to it when it exploded. Whatever the chemicals were, it basically burnt off his skin, as well as burning off the left side of his mouth (which is why his teeth are visible). Plus the chemicals got into his eye sooo… oof. Luckily Callahan fixed him up before the burns could get deeper, but he could only do so much with how much damage the chemicals already did to his skin. Poor guy :(
As for the rest of his design, I took the liberty of giving him the colored eyebrow and eyelashes that Callahan has. The color was originally gonna be black like how his original redesign was like, but then I realized… “wait… he would literally be a ginger too. HE’S JUST A FUCKED UP CLONE OF CALLAHAN!!” So uh, yeah he’s canonically a ginger now. Also also, he has central heterochromia! It’s kinda hard to see, but the bottom drawing shows it better. In game his mural design has brown eyes, and I wanted him to still have them but I also wanted him to match Banban, and I guess also Callahan too (cuz I gave Banban blue eyes). So I just decided to do both. Uhh also his entire outfit is white (aside from the brown apron and boots)! I like the idea that his uniform is a repurposed straight jacket (cuz the facility had those), and his original redesign had that idea too. I just turned it up a notch. And one final thing, he’s got dried GV blood on his apron and sleeves! He probably doesn’t care about getting blood on his outfit anymore, but he sure does care about keeping his tools clean!
Overall, Sy is still the same asshole we know and love! I really like this re-redesign of him, he looks so much better now! I’ve really evolved with my designs, huh? Or maybe it’s just my art style got a bit better, idk lol.
