if   the   news   ever   got   out   that   mitch   warren   spent   his   free   time   watching   a   camboy,   he   will   never   hear   the   end   of   it   .   not   only   from   the   media,   but   from   his   fellow   drivers   -   he’s   quiet   and   reserved   and   doesn’t   comment   on   much   -   unlike   the   other   drivers   ,   who   all   have   strong   opinions   .   mitch   stays   to   himself   and   wants   to   let   his   driving   speak   for   itself   ,   no   need   for   the   showmanship   that   some   drivers   parade   around   themselves.   mitch   knows   that   if   they   knew   about   his   guilty   pleasure   ,   it   would   become   a   running   joke   and   most   days,   mitch   doesn’t   want   to   show   his   head   around   the   paddock   —   let   alone   if   he   became   the   running   joke   of   the   sport.

he   rarely   checks   social   media   ,   rarely   pays   any   attention   to   his   messages   but   every   once   in   a   while,   he   wants   to   know   what   the   public   thinks   about   him.   lately,   he’s   just   been   another   driver   on   the   grid,   barely   winning   and   watching   his   previous   titles   be   claimed   by   someone   else   so   he’s   surprised   to   find   a   decent   amount   of   people   still   supporting   him.

what   he   really   wasn’t   expecting   was   a   link   to   a   camboy   who   talks   about   him   nonstop   ,   shows   up   on   camera   wearing   his   helmet   .   if   mitch   sat   back   and   analyzed   the   situation   ,   yeah   it’s   fucking   insane   .   this   man   was   getting   off   on   the   idea   of   him,   of   media   photos   that   were   taken   of   him   as   he   recovered   from   hot   races,   from   grueling   drives   --   and   yet,   mitch   couldn’t   look   away   .   it   had   been   a   no   brainer   to   follow   him   under   a   fake   name   ,   if   only   to   see   what   new   insane   thing   he   was   going   to   pull   out   next   .

if   mitch   was   attracted   to   him,   that’s   between   himself   and   his   god   .

when   the   man   mentions   that   he’s   going   to   be   at   silvertstone,   mitch   doesn’t   give   it   much   thought   .   there’s   hundreds   of   thousands   of   people   who   flock   to   the   track   and   he   will   never   get   within   three   hundred   kilometers   of   most   of   them   .

still,   when   a   man   with   blonde   curls   and   bright   blue   eyes   stands   at   the   edge   of   the   fan   zone,   mitch   feels   a   sense   of   familiarity   wash   over   him   .

he   knows   those   eyes   .

he   can   feel   himself   starting   to   get   hard   in   his   trousers   at   the   memory   of   him   groaning   his   name   as   he   came   .   signing   autographs   serves   as   a   distraction   until   he   comes   face   to   face   with   the   man   .   he’s   quick   to   fulfill   the   request,   trying   not   to   show   his   hand   ,   before   he   reaches   into   his   pocket   and   pulls   out   a   random   piece   of   paper,   carefully   writing   down   his   phone   number   .

for  a  moment  samuel  was  completely  absorbed  by  the  fact  that  his  helmet  had  been  signed,  that  their  hands  for  a  brief  moment  during  the  exchange  met  -   {{   fuck  i'll  never  wash  that  hand  again   }}   an  internal  intrusion  of  thought  that  had  him  embarassed  even  if  he  was  the  only  one  privy  to  it.  but  the  receipt  of  a  note  and  a  whispering  of  words  only  for  him  proceeded  to  break  him  just  a  little  further. he  didn't  need  to  open  the  slip  of  paper  to  know  that  it  contained  his  number,  mitch's  number,  HOLY  SHIT,  he  just  scored  mitch's  number  and  it  felt  like  he'd  just  won  the  jackpot,  unable  to  stop  himself  from  licking  over  his  lower  lip,  watching  the  aussie  fade  away  down  the  line  to  meet  more  fans.  but  he  highly  doubted  they  were  getting  this  level  of  service.  it  had  him  backing  away  from  the  front  of  screaming  fans,  moving  somewhere  more  private  before  he  finally  opened  the  paper,  added  the  number  to  his  phone.

lawrence   has   never   wanted   a   race   weekend   to   end   more   than   this   one   .   he’s   desperate   to   be   back   with   noah,   to   celebrate   the   man   he   loves   .   it’s   been   so   long   since   he   last   got   to   celebrate   with   him   and   it   makes   him   even   more   desperate   to   be   able   to   shower   him   with   affection.   for   the   past   decade,   this   day   has   always   carried   a   lot   of   baggage,   a   lot   of   pain   —   so   much   so   that   he   used   to   hide   away   and   turn   his   phone   off   ,   nursing   his   own   pain   for   his   own   mistakes   in   the   peace   and   quiet   of   his   own   mind. 

but   this   year   is   so   different,   so   much   better   than   the   years   past.   of   course,   lawrence   had   texted   him   first   thing   in   the   morning,   desperate   to   remind   noah   of   just   how   loved   he   is   ,   but   he   didn’t   have   time   to   call   him   before   having   to   leave   for   the   track   .   he   wants   to   give   noah   his   entire   attention. 

the   way   noah   compliments   his   driving   still   gets   his   heart   racing,   nearly   tripping   over   itself   in   his   chest   .   “   noah   ,”   he   pauses,   his   voice   slightly   more   emotional   than   he   would’ve   expected.   “   thank   you   .”   lawrence   knows   that   he’s   one   of   the   best   drivers   who   has   ever   taken   to   the   track   ,   but   his   partner   still   makes   him   feel   like   a   little   kid   in   karting   who   just   took   his   first   win   . 

wetting  his  lips  at  lawrence's  tone  a  shiver  crept  up  his  spine,  but  his  mind  was  on  task,  pulling  the  phone  away  from  his  ear  to  change  it  from  a  simple  phone  call  to  video,  propping  the  phone  up  against  the  lamp  on  his  bedside  table  so  he  could  be  seen  on  the  bed.  thanks  to  the  european  heat  noah  was  wearing  a  matching  two  piece,  light  blue  cotton  shorts,  and  a  short  sleeved  button  shirt  that  was  already  hanging  open,  leaving  his  bare  chest  on  display. despite  the  ten  years  noah  had  been  out  of  the  sport  he  was  known  for  at  least  looking  after  his  body,  the  muscles  were  still  clear  as  day,  neatly  trimmed  trail  of  hair  from  his  navel  disappearing  beyond  his  shorts  waistband.  his  hair,  though  normally  pushed  back  seemed  much  more  akin  to  his  younger  years,  fluffy  and  hanging  around  his  face,  clearly  having  had  a  shower  before  their  call. ‘   i  dressed  up  for  you,  even  if  you’re  not  here  to  see  it  in  person,   ‘   noah  finally  replied  lightly,  giving  lawrence  a  moment  to  take  him  in  -  hopeful  that  lawrence  would  be  pleased  with  the  view.   ’   wish  you  were  here  to  take  it  off  me.   '
