Hi the lore behind this is that Nightmare made a deal with Horror to provide food and shit to Horror's timeline. Uhhhh there were more details but how tf would I remember those?? Anyways... Nightmare made the deal knowing that Horror's timeline was crumbling and was going to self-destruct. Some timelines or AUs self-destruct because the creator or player deletes the world for whatever reason. Maybe the creator didn't like their concept or the player got bored of the game. The timeline already had signs of crumbling, and Nightmare decided to take advantage of that for a free employee! Yay! Horror was neutral/slightly distasteful of Nightmare because he's already experienced terrible people but this just proved to him how cruel Nightmare actually was. Now Horror's Papyrus is gone forever and Horror is forced to continue doing things for Nightmare. Nightmare has to get the others to find a way to cheer up Horror because he loses some of his efficiency in work.. but Horror was better than a lot of others Nightmare has recruited so he's not lettin' the guy go or die lalala
