People give Brock Rumlow more grace for being an actual nazi then they do to Peggy who they insist is a nazi because of a few out of date comic panels and im tired of it

people will forgive a cis white man for anything and will go down to ridiculous lenghts to demonize a female character because *checks notes* she gets in the way of a cis white fujo ship.

#saw a post that was like 'it's actually Feminist to think peggy was part of hydra bc otherwise she was just incompetent as director' #and it's like okay do you also think nick fury was incompetent for not knowing? #bc both of them were shown to be very competent people #who had good intentions but learned to make certain compromises over time that hydra was able to quietly exploit #that's the whole point of the convo steve and fury have over the helicarriers #fury knew project insight was flawed but the longer he spent in the director position having to make life and death decisions #the more comfortable he became with accepting those trade-offs in the name of protection and security #i think we can assume that's the same thing peggy had to wrestle with #and that's so much more interesting than 'nazi or incompetent' #but if she gets in the way of the men then fuck her i guess! #no need to engage with her actual storyline or the values we see her hold on screen!
