the cancellation of valko as a character is ridiculous.
yes. there are valid complaints made me cn players regarding the use of the numbers 731 in regards to experimentation of the game and yes there was ignorance displayed into the real life safety of women.
none of these things have been addressed nor fixed. instead, the character has been completely axed instead because more people were complaining about how he “doesn’t fit their beauty standards” than the actual issues at hand, leading to the company removing the character instead. this causes massive disappointment amongst players because whilst the miserable people were loud, they were not the majority and many people were excited about this character. additionally, entirely plot points and storylines now have to change since they would have revolved around this character, meanings months if not years of work are going to be thrown out, with actual real life people losing their jobs (voice actor, clothing designers, mocap actors etc), as well as future workers losing opportunities since the company has now stated that there will not be anymore love interests despite the fact that the storylines were clearly going in that direction.
this is not only disappointing from the company, it’s also deeply disappointing from the players of the game. it’s a massive shame.
It's so disappointing and disheartening to see Valko's development and storylines get erased JUST LIKE THAT!!!
I feel like wearing Valko just adds more work to the L*** And Deep***** team??? Imagine the disappointment and heartbreak the team faces when they poured their heart and soul into making Valko. The creative team, the animation team, the cosplay team.
If this is how they treat their workers, don't even think about how they'd treat US.
I was really looking forward to seeing Valko, something fresh from a game that's been so stagnant. But the "target" audience seem so scared of change, that they're willing to settle for mediocrity.
Not saying the main story and the other 5 LIs are boring, but come on now. What's so bad about having something new?
I feel like they could've solved all problems if they just kept Valko, and be transparent in how they're going to pace the story with 6 LIs. Instead they took the lazy and easiest way out, which hurts a lot of the fans.
But who am I to say anything about this right? It's just a game.
I'm genuinely so upset and disgusted rn, using valko as a scapegoat to avoid accountability for valid issues regarding the game is not only cowardly but immature. It really shows how greedy and apathetic infold has gotten.
Not only that, but the blatant racism is absolutely insane, valko was just the slightest bit tan and the CN 'fans' couldn't handle that. The colorism is so gross to see. I was so excited for valko I fully intended on downloading the game for him. Also, not to mention the fact that this is going to just reinforce that CN players can pressure infold into anything and that it doesn't matter what global players want.

I'm not saying people shouldn't have been angry about the 731 reference. They absolutely had every right to be. Unit 731 is one of the darkest chapters in history and if that reference was made carelessly, then yes, people deserved an apology and an explanation.
But explain to me how Valko became the sacrificial lamb here.
Who exactly does this help?
The people who were hurt by the reference? They still deserve accountability.
The people who were excited for Valko? Congratulations, you just told them to go fuck themselves.
The developers who spent who knows how long creating an entirely new LI? Their work gets deleted overnight.
So what was the goal here?
Because this doesn't feel like taking responsibility. It feels like corporate damage control.
Fix the story.
Rewrite the chapter.
Delete the offending reference.
Delay the release.
Fire whoever thought using 731 and 611 was acceptable if you have to.
But deleting an ENTIRE CHARACTER because of a mistake in ONE PART OF THE GAME is such an absurd overreaction that I genuinely can't wrap my head around it.
I'm just so unbelievably disappointed. because Infold's response was somehow even worse than the original mistake.
We lost a character.
The developers lost their work.
The fandom lost something people had been excited about.

Valko loved doing things for you. It satisfied him immensely when he would complete a task for you and you'd praise him. Your approval meant the world to him.
He'd carry your groceries in and put them away for you, and then he would stand in front of you with his head tilted, exposing his jaw to you, as he waited patiently for you to reach up and pat his cheek affectionately.
"Thank you, Valko," you would say so sweetly. If his tail was out whenever you did this, it would wag happily behind him as he followed you around, looking for other things to do for you.
It was routine at this point. He'd carry a big box or move the couch or reach a high shelf for you, you'd pat his cheek and say, "Thank you," and he'd float behind you until you needed his help again.
He really was like a dog.
The thought had you stopping for a moment one day, the gears in your head turning. You'd found out that Valko's ears were super sensitive and he really liked when you scratched them, but would he enjoy chin scratches, too?
You decided to test it out.
You wanted to change the layout of your bedroom, and you asked Valko to move your desk for you. When he was done, you reached up towards his face. He tilted his head, expecting you to pat his cheek again like you did every other time.
Instead, your fingers drifted towards underneath his chin, and you gave it a light scratch, much like you would for a dog that's been good for you.
"Thank you, baby," you hummed, turning around and acting as if you hadn't done anything different.
Behind you, Valko had gone still. His eyes snapped open and his tail stopped wagging behind him. His entire body was suddenly rigid.
"Did you just..." His voice trailed off, and you looked at him from over your shoulder.
"What?" you asked, your demeanor the picture of innocence. On the inside, you were laughing, seeing how red your baby's face had become. His skin was flushed nearly the same colour as his hair.
He stepped towards you and grabbed your wrist, bringing your hand back up to his chin. His ears and tail were perked up.
"Do it again," he said, his golden eyes staring unblinking into yours. You giggled and opened your mouth to retort, but the words died on your tongue when he pressed your fingers more insistently against his skin.
Your fingers moved gently, scratching softly at his chin and jaw. His ears fell flat against his head, relaxed, and his tail began swishing energetically behind him. His shoulders curled inwards and his eyes fluttered shut. Valko's entire body seemed to fold into you as you continued to scritch at his chin.
It looked like Valko really enjoyed chin scratches. He was so cute, your puppy, and he was all yours.

I just know that Valko's ears are soooo sensitive.
He usually kept his wolf side hidden from the public, seeing as he had a reputation to hold, but around you, he let it come out. Something about you just satisfied this primal part of him, had it relaxing whenever he was around you. You made him feel a little domesticated, and he was okay with that.
You figured out his sensitivity when you were cuddling during movie night. Every Friday, Valko made sure to make time for the two of you to snuggle up under some blankets and gorge yourselves on snacks as a movie you were a little too interested in played on the TV.
Usually, Valko would sit you on his lap and wrap his arms around you, keeping you caged close to him while his nose poked around against your neck, inhaling the way you smelled. His tail would gently thump against the cushions.
Today, however, you could tell that Valko was tired. He'd had a long week, attending boring meetings and spending long hours in the lab. You knew, without him having to tell you, that he needed some loving.
So when you had finished setting up the couch for movie night, instead of letting Valko pull you into him like he did every other night, you opened your arms and beckoned him to come to you.
"I want to be the big spoon tonight," you giggled, and who was Valko to deny you?
He crawled to you from his spot on the couch, resting his head on your chest and wrapping his arms around your waist. He sighed as he melted into you, his tail wagging contentedly behind him. With the lovable beast laying on top of you, you had no need for the blanket anymore, and so it lay forgotten on the floor.
You pressed play on the remote, eager to start the movie and help Valko take his mind off whatever was bugging him.
As the movie played, your hands came down to rest against Valko, one on his back and the other on his head. Subconsciously, your hands began to move, scratching gently at the undercut framing the back of his head and the muscles of his shoulders.
His reaction was immediate. His body relaxed fully onto yours, his head falling lax against your chest, his face buried into your skin. His tail fell against the couch, still for a moment, before it picked up and started wagging back and forth. Not fast enough to disturb you, but enough for you to know he was enjoying your movements.
"Go a little higher," he rasped, his voice having gone breathy and a little whiny. You obeyed, your hand traveling up his head, coming to rest on his wolf ears. Tentatively, you gave them a little scratch.
Valko shuddered against you, a whine clawing its way out of his throat. You paused, tilting your head.
"Does that hurt?" you asked. He shook his head, refusing to raise his face from your chest.
"Sensitive," he whispered, tightening his arms around you and pulling your closer to him, molding your body to his. "Keep going."
You smiled gently to yourself and resumed your movements. Every so often, Valko would shiver against you and let out a quiet yip and his lazy tail would thump a little too hard against the cushions, but he was more relaxed than you'd seen him all week.
You forgot all about the movie playing in the background. You were just happy to hold your puppy in your arms.
Guys.. you can’t just DELETE A FUCKING LOVE LIFE BECAUSE BRATS ARE THROWIJG A TANTRUM. We’re NOT getting a new chapter ANY time soon because now they gotta rewrite a whole storyline that correlates with previous events, all the hard work from so many workers are thrown in the trash and the rest of the world (not just Chinese players) are devastated because unlike those players (not all, this isn’t about you stfu) we actually were excited. This is also unprofessional on Infold’s end. Wdym you delete months and maybe even years worth of hard work because you couldn’t handle the hate. You’re a company making millions, if not, billions of dollars. You’ll survive.

his warm palm came up to cup your cheek, and you immediately nuzzled it, leaning against his touch.
“it's late, bunny. i have to go,” he explained, his smile easy, but his golden eyes betraying hesitation.
you frowned slightly, looking down at the floor, only to lift your eyes seconds later and meet his again.
“yeah, but… you just came,” you insisted, your voice turning frail, almost desperate. “stay? a little while, please.”
his thumb caressed the soft curve of your cheekbone.
he couldn't stay; he knew it.
but he couldn't leave you alone, either, not when you were looking at him with those pleading eyes, clinging to him as if you needed his existence to keep breathing.
“honeybun, i wish i could, but…” he trailed off, his resolve growing weaker.
“please…” you mumbled, your arms now coiling around his torso. you nuzzled his strong chest, trying to commit his scent and warmth to memory.
if he was going to leave so soon, you wanted to take as much of him with you as you could.
he leaned down, his chin now resting atop your head.
his hands hesitated before resting on your lower back, pulling you closer to him, making your bodies almost melt together.
you whined softly and shut your eyes so tightly that you couldn't perceive the light or shadows anymore.
you didn't want to think of anything else that wasn't this moment.
you wanted to recognize him by his scent; his manly, musky perfume, so that when you were lost, you could find your way back to him with all of your senses.
you didn't notice you were trembling until he lifted your head, his expression soft but concerned.
he leaned closer, his warm lips catching a tear as it rolled down your cheek. valko lingered, the tip of his nose warm against your skin, his mouth pressed gently to your tear-streaked face.
how could anyone try to keep him away from you?
“valkie,” you sniffled, your hands travelling up his chest until they rested on his shoulders. “will you come back…?”
he sighed.
his lips left your skin as he pulled back, but he remained close, pressing your foreheads together.
“i won't need to come back,” he mumbled, his arms wrapping around your waist in a way that left little to no room for you to move. “because i won't leave, little bunny.”
your breath hitched.
you searched his gaze for any hint of deceit, or perhaps pity; a pity that would make him tell sweet lies as long as you stopped crying.
but those golden pools held nothing but resolve and tenderness; a mate promising his beloved he wouldn't dare leave as long as he lived.
he couldn't do it, he wouldn't survive if he left. his heart wouldn't make it if he didn't have yours beating close to it.
“you— really? you promise?” you whispered, your fingers gently caressing the smooth undershave at his nape, perhaps to ground yourself, perhaps to comfort him as well.
he kneeled right there in front of you, his chin tilting up so he could meet your gaze.
he took your hands in his and kissed each and every one of your knuckles. he then turned your hands over and nuzzled your warm palms, closing his eyes in pure bliss.
“i promise,” he assured, looking up through his thick eyelashes.
you cupped his cheeks and caressed his warm skin with the tips of your fingers, your eyes still glistening with unshed tears.
you traced the bridge of his nose, his eyebrows, his jawline, trying to memorize their shape, their texture, their softness and sharpness all at once.
it was almost as if you were scared of him disappearing.
scared of him going, scared of him leaving, and scared your mind wouldn't be able to recall anything you could hold on to.
he followed your hands with his eyes until he captured your fingers, pressing soft, wet kisses to them.
then, he stood up, towering over you in a way that never once felt threatening.
he picked you up in his arms with painful gentleness, treating you like the most delicate and fragile treasure, and held you against his chest, his body curling inward just to keep you surrounded by him.
his limbs, his scent, his breathing, and his clothes all brushed against your skin.
your fingers clung to him for dear life.
his long legs carried both of you to your bedroom, where he finally placed you down.
but you refused to let him go.
you stubbornly kept your limbs wrapped around his body, so he had no choice but to lie on top of you as carefully as he could, then gently roll the two of you over so that you'd be resting on his chest.
he lowered his hands until they reached the small of your back, and he pressed a lingering, soft kiss to your forehead the moment your pretty eyes looked up at him.
“i'm here, my bunny,” he whispered, his low voice rumbling in his chest. “i'm not going anywhere.”
no, he wasn't.
you wouldn't let him.
you shook your head softly and nuzzled his neck, sniffing his scent the way he taught you to; soft little sniffs to recognize where his scent was the strongest, then three long, slow inhales to take it in and commit it to memory.
the mix of pine, sandalwood, and the natural scent of his skin made you feel drowsy; the fear of him leaving replaced by his grounding promise.
you kissed the warm spot that brought you comfort, and let your consciousness drift away.
valko remained quiet, but he watched attentively as your eyelashes stopped fluttering, and your chest rose and fell calmly against his.
he nuzzled the top of your head and pulled a blanket over the two of you, almost as if to keep you both beneath a protective barrier the rest of the world couldn't break.
he knew not to make promises he could break, but… you were fighting so hard to cling to him, to remember him.
and if your heart, body, and soul were already memorizing every inch of his skin, he wouldn't truly be gone from your world.
ever.
he closed his eyes and buried his face deeper in your hair.
maybe fate would ask impossible things of him one day, maybe the world would try to pull him away.
but, if it ever did, he would spend every lifetime finding his way back to the little bunny who knew his scent by heart.~
