Detroit's mayor is apparently a woman, with the magazine using the pronoun "her". But she's, likely due to translations issues, referenced as "governor of Detroit" rather than the "mayor" title [1]. In previous versions we had the name "Alan Turner", but who knows if was a woman or a man, likely a man if i consider Warren's case [2].

If Carl dies in Broken some people actually believes "his android" (Markus) attacked and killed him even tho no such thing is publicly mentioned. The info released to the public was that it was a "fatal cardiac event induced by a stressful domestic situation". A NPC mentions reading the rumor "somewhere", what suggests to me maybe some gossip magazines been spreading funny rumors about cases involving androids.

Now megacorporations such as CyberLife are partnering with orgs like the Global Institute for Endangered Species (GIES) to create robotic bees. Ofc other minor orgs (like the Urban Farms) are trying the not-robotic approach and doing 'em own thing but no one knows if it'll really help in a large scale and long-term. Oh, boy... megacorporations.

Military androids started being developed sometime before the early 30s with the Army ordering around 2 million units in 2031[1], starting to replace almost everyone by 2032. Since then they're already more than 80% of the entire army combat units[2] and at least 60% of the entire US military in 2038[3], mostly infantry androids such as the SQ800s. New units are also currently being developed and used in the US Navy for marine combat such as the Trojan and Myrmidon[4], part of the war effort to counter Russia's advantage in the Arctic when talking about androids (they can operate in freezing conditions while CyberLife androids freeze as we can see in BfD)[5]. As mentioned before autonomous cars are very common in DBH, and one of the companies that make such cars is CrowneCars. One of their representatives even explained a bit how the system works in life/death decisions such high probability of hitting people in an accident. Well, they're basically analyzing all your data and deciding if you're worthy being hit in this no-escape situation or not. He recently gave an interview talking about Deep Space 5, a crew with 5 androids that is about to reach Mars after travelling for 3 yrs, part of a mission to build a human base there and make experiments. This study was done by a dude called Dr. P. Gorganski, and CyberLife is even trynna sell a "home-psychologist" android for $150, y'know, THERAPY. Gorganski said "just go outside and talk to someone". Yeah, the famous "touch grass".

During the events of the game the midwest is suffering with a bunch of hurricanes stronger than they've ever seen before. The church we run to in Night of the Soul exists irl and it's the Woodward Avenue Presbyterian Church - either that or is heavily inspired. It means, after the ship raid, androids crossed the whole city up north to gather at this church (which originally was part of Markus cut fight club chapter, that's why we got this return) on the other side of the city while there are soldiers everywhere. U can also see the church from the landfill in From the Dead, and seems like a pattern more abandoned areas becoming construction sites or landfills in the city.

The Detroit Urban Farms is a initiative started by Daniel Trent and Parker Trent that turns unused and abandoned spaces - such as abandoned buildings and rooftops - in Detroit into "organic & natural" farms (no genetic manipulation). The interesting part is they seem to try helping the unemployed, giving 'em jobs with decent wages and supervisory roles, after all it's a better ending compared to becoming a Red Ice dealer. Initially they didn't get enough funding, no one took 'em seriously, now they got over 50 staff supervising around 100 androids. Even tho investors now wanna get into biz the org wanna remain independent.

Android Zones aren't CyberLife stores. These shops are more for the low budge folk, where u can buy mostly second-handed androids, take 'em to repairs etc. They also sell general tech stuff such as PC parts, android components, android clothes, audio devices etc. It's really like the average small tech shop u have on the streets rather than those big official CyberLife stores. If the owner needs a some sorta license to deal with those androids (technical assistance) or not is unknown.
