Couldn't keep this to myself but I just realised that with how divorced Daisuke and Swansea were from Anya Curly and Jimmy, they probably hadn't been in medbay in months and hadn't seen Curly properly and Curly probably hadn't seen them in a while, like at most they came in avoiding looking at him to get something, and Curly was probably missing them so bad, maybe forgetting some finer details about them.
Imagine:
Curly hasn't seen Daisuke in months or weeks.
And then the next time he finally sees Daisuke it's bloodied, burnt and dying, crawling out of a vent to save a dead person.
The next time he sees Swansea properly it's with a bullet in his head.
