shinji and kitaoka would be horrible for each other and they would not work out and they are truly polar opposites which the show constantly tells you at every possible moment with their color schemes being red and green and shinji being a highly unpredictable and emotional wrecking ball who crashes into everyone elses plans and has 2 jobs that he struggles with while kitaoka is a very calm and calculating guy who has a ton of money as a lawyer and gets help from his assistant boyfriend guy. but. that being said. shinji is also like a gay guy who has never thought about the fact that hes gay in his life and he is jsut now figuring that out at like the worst possible time in his life when hes in middle of a damn death game and it sucks but he hasnt totally figured it out yet?? but like its pretty obvious from the way he acts though like its just that shinji is the last person in the room to figure out that hes gay and everyone else is kind of waiting and well its kinds of fascinating to see shinji one of the most insane and distractable people ever trying to wrap his head around this while hes also making tons of nearly thoughtless decisions. so shinji is like weirdly obsessed with kitaoka in that way like he wants to be friends with him and get close to him even thouhg he sucks and hates him and he gets in that guy's personal space all the time and he tries going on a date with him and takes notes on his life and cant even fucking think of anything to say about him and kitaoka is so funny because he doesnt give a fuck about shinji not rlly but hes like ehhh sure ill entertain this. ill see where this is going. might as well mess with him. if hes gonna keep bothering me then i have nothing better to do. and thats how you get moments like that part when shinji cleans this fucker's house or the part where shinji gets absurdly close to this guy and does a little head tilt without thinking like theyre about to kiss.

the thing about the blade finale is that if you rewatch it it's really obvious what kenzaki is doing and in fact you even see the exact moment where he gets the idea. however on a first watch for most people that's not where your brain is at at all so you get to slowly realise what he's planning at the same time karasuma and tachibana do but by that point it's too late because kenzaki's already started inventing a special glue that allows him to walk up and down anything
