the concept of reality shifting makes me feel like a god and i hate it. like i can change everyone, anything and everything. that makes me feel like playing a singleplayer game. i'm the only player here in every reality and everything is a simulation, everyone is NPC and i'm the only one T-T. i know that these people are real but still.. i can't help it. like solipsism, i think it's similar. but i hate the idea of solipsism. i hate the feeling of it, what should i do to not feel that way, what should i know to not feel that way?
I like that you adresses this because I also hate when people say and act like we are god that have power over reality.
Because it is not the case! But everyone is so deep into this god complex that I know I can’t even dare to say something
One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that we somehow have absolute power over reality and other people.
You cannot change people. You cannot control other people's minds or lives or anything. You do not have power over reality itself. What you have power over is your own experience and awareness of reality. That’s all and that’s really different.
For example, when someone shifts for their SO, they're not forcing them to love them or manipulating that person into becoming someone else.
The idea is that they're becoming aware of a reality where that person already loves them. That's a very different concept from controlling someone.
The misunderstanding is when people think shifting means bending reality to your will.
But if shifting is becoming aware of a different reality, not creating or controlling one, you're not standing above everyone else deciding what happens. You're simply experiencing a version of reality that already exists.
Every reality are filled with real people having their own experiences just like we do. The existence of multiple realities doesn’t make others less real.
It doesn’t make you the main character and everyone else background characters.
(Solipsism suggests that only your mind is truly real and everything else might just be a projection). I already made a post about it, kind of. But no, don’t worry.
You don't have to view yourself as the only player in existence because you are not. You don't have to view yourself as a god because you are not. You don't have to view everyone else as NPCs because they are not.
If those ideas are causing distress, it may help to remind yourself what shifting truly is, and to distance yourself from the people claiming that you are a god. Because you are not (respectfully).
You’re not changing people. You’re not overriding anyone's free will. You’re not rewriting or controlling reality. I'm simply becoming aware of a reality where things are already different.
The internet often pushes the idea that shifters are all-powerful creators who can do anything they want, they can’t (not like that).
