Introduction:

Hi! I’ve been posting a lot more recently, so I figured it was finally time to make an intro post.

My name is Sham, I’m 28, and I was born and raised in NYC. I've known about shifting since 2020, but I later realized I'd actually shifted as a kid without knowing what it was. My first conscious minishift was in 2021.

I’ve taken breaks on and off throughout the years, with my longest break being from September 2025 to April 2026. Since April, I’ve been consistently shifting and sharing more of my journey.

I’m big on manifesting, motivating others to shift, and sharing my experiences. I also occasionally post shifting storytimes, so expect a lot of those here.

DR shifting ask game

You would think that would make me possessive, but honestly, it just has me feeling a lil frustrated. At least they’re not shifters or shifting for him… to my knowledge.

Instead, my first instinct is to avoid him altogether. I think it’s because I miss him. Which is ironic because avoiding him will make me miss him even more.

I’ve also been super emotional and really drained this past week, so that’s definitely contributing to how I’m feeling.

I’ve honestly even been considering taking another shifting break because of how drained I’ve been. I shifted to a parallel reality two days ago, and when I came back here, I physically felt sick. It took a lot out of me.

Tangled is one of my favorite movies, so I had to make a DR based on it.

Rapunzel's story is believed to be inspired by a Persian folktale about a girl living in what is now modern-day Kabul, Afghanistan. As an Afghan girl, learning about the cultural background helped me connect with the story even more. I can relate to Rapunzel's personality, her story, and so many aspects of the movie.

My first name in this reality is Shamsiya, which means "sun," so it's very fitting. I have long hair that grows pretty fast, so I was meant to be Rapunzel.

I also play Rapunzel in the live-action version of Tangled in my Fame DR.

Soulmated so hard, my s/o has the same soul in every reality, regardless of his name or appearance.

This was not planned or scripted. I found out a couple of years ago and it resonated. That’s my man fr.

This was me reading the Shufflemancy Bundle that my friend Shay did for my Fame DR:

Basically, I’M THAT GIRL (word to Beyoncé) and Justin Bieber is obsessed with me! I’m extra motivated to shift to my Fame DR now, instead of avoiding it like I usually do.

I’m kind of stuck between wanting to share more about my DRs on here and wanting to keep them private.

I’m honestly surprised I even shared my Fame DR s/o’s first name in my post the other day. He’s been involved in some of the shifting storytimes I’ve shared on here and is a pretty big part of my shifting lore, but idkkkk.

Part of me is really protective over my DRs and the people in them. Another part of me just doesn’t want to put myself out there and be judged.

But at the same time, I think talking about my DRs and the people in them more might actually help me stop being so avoidant. They’re such a big part of my shifting journey, and I genuinely love talking about them.

Going home ⸝⸝ aka your main reality

Honestly, my Fame DR with Justin! It's the one I think about the most, the one I get the most downloads and inspiration for, and the one I shift to parallel versions of the most.

Where it all began ⸝⸝ aka your first DR

Hogwarts was my first DR, and it's still one of my main DRs. I currently have multiple DRs based on the Wizarding World. I am a fantasy girlie through and through!

New moon ⸝⸝ aka your latest DR

Hmmm, I'm in my anti-scripting phase, but I recently came up with a 90s Supermodel Fame DR. I'm also strongly considering making an 80s Fame DR!

All the attention ⸝⸝ aka the DR you are currently focused on

I'm currently rewatching all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, so I've been updating the MCU DR I made years ago.

A breath of fresh air ⸝⸝ aka your most relaxing DR

I'm gonna go with my The Summer I Turned Pretty-inspired DR that I named Coastal Cousins. It's such a chill DR where I spend the summer hanging out with my friends and family at a beach house.

Thriving in chaos ⸝⸝ aka your busiest/most hectic DR

Besides my MCU DR, I'd have to go with my Avatar: The Last Airbender (ATLA) DR! I feel like there's always something happening and something to do, even when there aren't any missions.

Safety first ⸝⸝ aka the DR you feel safest in

I don't usually shift to DRs where I don't feel safe, so I'd probably go with my Better CR DR.

Do it for the thrill ⸝⸝ aka your most dangerous DR

My most dangerous DR is probably the group The Walking Dead-inspired DR I have with some of my friends. I never thought I'd shift to a post-apocalyptic reality with zombies. If it weren't for my friends and the backstory I scripted, I don't think I'd shift there on my own.

It's niche ⸝⸝ aka your most niche DR

The first DR that comes to mind is my She's the Man DR. She's the Man is one of my favorite comfort movies. I'm also planning on shifting to a reality based on the This Woven Kingdom book series. What's funny is that I'd already been tapping into a reality similar to the books years before they were published.

It's my 3 year anniversary on Shiftblr!

Just remembered that today is the one-year anniversary of my wisdom tooth removal surgery. Later that night, I almost fainted because I lost too much blood after brushing my teeth and ended up crashing into the living room table.

And somehow, I still shifted that same night. I was literally in pain and exhausted, but I was also strangely confident I was going to shift because all I wanted was sleep.

So yeah, you really can shift anytime. Even when you’re recovering from surgery, in pain, and after almost fainting.

I wanted to come on here and say something after what’s been going on recently.

I haven’t been as consistent with shifting over the past two weeks as I was at the beginning of the month, and that’s been feeding into some of my imposter syndrome. At times I feel like I don’t really belong in the shifting community or I’m somehow doing something wrong.

This morning, I saw a hate comment, and I won’t lie, it unexpectedly upset me. Usually I let hate comments brush past me, take the high road, and don’t respond. It wasn’t just that though. I was already dealing with imposter syndrome and those thoughts about not really belonging. For a minute I genuinely thought about just quitting shifting altogether or just stop posting on this account. I am lucky enough to have shifting friends outside of Tumblr that I can always talk to.

But even then, there was still part of me that knew I should use these feelings as motivation to shift. To shift even while feeling upset, hurt, isolated, and a bit spiteful. I’ve shifted while feeling irritated in the past, so why can’t I shift now?

I went to sleep upset, woke up briefly at 11:44, then went back to sleep a few minutes later. A bit later, I ended up shifting to a parallel reality where I was a college student and stayed there for almost a full day. Interestingly enough, the area near my school does not exist in this reality (not that I know of), but I recognized it and knew where the stores were based on previous dreams I’ve had. Looking back, I guess some of those dreams were also shifts.

But what stood out to me is this:

Even when I was upset, I still shifted.

Even when I was doubting everything, I still shifted.

Even when I was considering quitting, I still shifted.

So yeah, your emotional state doesn’t prevent you from shifting. Being upset, hurt, unsure, or even spiteful doesn’t mean you lose access to your experiences or your progress.

If anything, this just reminded me that you don’t have to be perfectly calm or confident for things to still happen.

Shifting is inevitable.

So if you’re going through it right now, don’t assume you’ve “lost it” or that you need to fix yourself first. You’re still allowed to continue on your shifting journey.
