hi followers new and old! i just want to clarify some things about this blog and the person running it since some seem to be misunderstanding my responses on certain issues that are submitted or mused about in various anonymous asks on the blog.
when i respond to messages, particularly concerning the ethics questions that some theologians and academics in general have been pondering for years, i typically give my honest reaction and maybe a little validation or additional questions if i’m not sure of what the asker is attempting to communicate.
i’m just an ex-christian who has found peace in letting go of my past beliefs. i have never studied theology, logic, or ethics academically. i have an extremely limited knowledge on these subjects. i grew up with certain privileges and circumstances that formed a lens through which my world has been evaluated. every nuance of opinion from me expressed here is just what it is: an opinion, and possibly one that has relied on misinformation. i grew up with a lot of indoctrination that basically forced me into a frame of mind i no longer subscribe to but can slip into involuntarily; but, i try my best to remain conscious of it and avoid it whenever possible.
all i’m asking is for kindness when approaching me. i understand that points of view are endless on whether any sort of deities exist or have ever existed, and many of these views differ from my own. this blog exists to offer positivity and an example of the benefits of letting go of indoctrination, and instead thinking on your own.
try to examine your own societal lens before attacking others’ views, or particularly, their beliefs, just because they are not your own.
