A consistent pattern I’ve seen persist over and over in Christianity as a whole is it’s persistent determination to be isolationist and gatekeep-y to keep its followers ‘safe’ from outside perspectives and ideologies while simultaneously worming it’s way into non-Christian or ideally secular spaces in order to manipulate or brute-force the spread of the religion.
It’s leaving pro-life stickers on coffee cups or writing Bible verses in size 6 font on the inside of egg cartons at the store.
It’s writing a book about coping mechanisms for depression and ADHD only to state plainly on the last handful of pages that the ONLY true way to cure your mental health is to ask Jesus Christ to enter your heart.
It’s making ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ to preach at, entrap, and manipulate pregnant people. It’s Christian colonialism.
But, you know, heaven forbid a persons whose sole job is to sign marriage certificates for the secular government has to give one to a gay couple. Heaven forbid the secular public school teaches evolutionary biology and forbids the teacher from proselytizing to their captive audience of children without parents present.
