What Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness should have been?
PART 1
I feel like this movie needed to have a psychological horror movie director. To dive in through the mind of Wanda and what she is going through.
This movie should have been "Doctor Strange & The Scarlet Witch Vs. The Multiverse of Madness". Wanda and Stephen should have been fighting to protect America from evil versions of Wandas or Stephens or whoever would be after her. It should have showed Wanda hiding the fact that she had the Darkhold and was hiding it and secretly using it. Slowly getting corrupt by it. It should have showed our Wanda still dreaming about her kids and hearing them calling her. It should have shown a Wanda from a different universe with the story line from this movie. Trying to do whatever she had to, to get to her children. Then it should have showed Evil Wanda appealing to Our Wanda. O. Wanda, who we have seen lose her twin & the love of her life. O. Wanda who broke mentally from grief and unknowingly took hostage a town to gain what she wanted most and lost, a family. O. Wanda and Stephen would have fallen through to the universe with Illuminati and be held by them. Wanda meets Prof. X and learns about mutants and the Wanda from this reality. And connects to him telling him she reminds him of her father. She finds out this Wanda has a bigger family then she ever dreamed of (hints at Magneto being her father). E. Wanda would come through and wreak havoc. Our Team would try to run to get the Book of Ashanti. O. Wanda would stay back to by time with Prof. X. She would have a psychological battle with E. Wanda. Prof. X would go in to pull O. Wanda out the rubble and E. Wanda would kill him. O. Wanda fights and kills E. Wanda. O. Team makes it to the book and O. Wanda catches up only to want the book for herself because she is tired of losing people and being alone and the Darkhold promises her that with the Darkhold and the Book of Ashanti, she can get everything she wants and needs. She pushes O. Team (including Stephen, America, and Christine) through the portal. They are on Our universe. She goes to the temple that the Darkhold shows her that it is a throne for her. O. Team goes to Wong (Sorcerer Supreme) and tells him what happened. He has info about the Mountain. They go there. They find Wanda trying to combine the magics of both books and try to stop her. She entraps them in their mind. This is where we learn about Stephen and his sister. This is where we learn that Wanda puts them in their worst memory. The only way to break out is through magic. This is where Stephen gets the idea to possess his dead body. O. Stephen crawls through another plane of existence and comes across a demon who will not give him his name. Stephen, desperate, makes a deal with this demon and the demon agrees to help and takes over the Dead Stephen’s body. The Demon then uses the demonic cloak and flies to the temple to help. He breaks everyone free and O. Team try to reason with Wanda. They don’t notice that the other demons there are bowing to the Demon in Dead Stephen’s body. She becomes angry and uses the fantastic line of "You break the rules and become a hero. I do it and I become the enemy. That doesn't seem fair." then she goes in even harder. "I tried to play by the rules, and do you know what I got. A dead Twin. ME having to blow a hole into the love of my life's head and it amounting to nothing. Me having children only to having to do the right thing and giving them up for an ungrateful world. I have helped save the world and I make ONE mistake and that means that everything else doesn't matter. Me saving the world didn't matter. They pushed me out and away. No one came to help me. No one came to see if I was ok. You came only to ask for something. They only come because they want me for my power. I was alone Stephen. And no one came."
PART 2
Wanda then goes to teach Stephen what that is like and kills the Christine from the other universe. They have a moment about how and why her and her Stephen never worked out and about how they never got the time to. Stephen then goes on to tell her that he feels comforted to know that in every universe there is a Stephen that loved her. Christine dies. Our team and Wanda fight. America punches her through the reality to show her the aftermath of E. Wanda. O. Wanda discovers that E. Wanda was possessing that world Wanda so when she thought she was killing E. Wanda she actually killed that worlds Wanda. Leaving her children without their mother. She steps through and tries to explain but they are scared of her. As she tries to gather them to maybe take, that worlds Vision walks through the door.He has maybe just comeback from finding his wife dead. The children run to him and hide behind him. O. Wanda looks at him and she can’t speak. He looks at her and grief is plain on his face. He tells the children to run upstairs. She goes to try and explain, but Vision talks first. He talks about how his wife had been having dreams of O. Wanda’s life. O. Wanda’s grief and pain. O. Wanda losing everyone and everything that mattered to her. He then goes on to talk about how sorry he is for her loss. O. Wanda cries and kneels and break down. Vision then goes on to say “My Wanda, she wanted to help you she just…didn’t know how. So, I will say to you what I think she would say, “Know that they’ll be loved. I don’t think they will ever forgive or understand what has happened, but I will try to explain when they are older and not grieving.” O. Wanda then unknowingly says, “What is grief, if not love persevering?” realizing that she has caused that grief but also proved that she does not deserve to be their mother. They had a mother and she unknowingly took that. Vision then turns to her and smiles sadly and says “Exactly.” He kneels down and helps her up and says, “We cannot change what has happened, but I wish that you find what you are looking for.” He looks back to the stairs and sees that the boys are holding each other and crying. He then turns to O. Wanda and says, “But it is not here.” He then guides her through the portal holding her hand. He goes back to his side and the twins run back to him sobbing. He waves and smiles with tears streaming down his face and says, “So long, Wanda.” Echoing the last time she had heard those words. Those words were in WandaVision when Vision tells her, “So long, Darling.”.
PART 3
She cries and breaks down. She looks back to O. Team and while sobbing almost hysterically and apologizes and tells them to go and leave her. She tells them to take that Christine’s body back to her world and the Demon turns to O. Stephen and says I will collect your favor soon and burns the dead body. Wong and America go to do that while O. Stephen sits with her and holds her. He asks what he can do for her. But there is really nothing he can do. He tries throwing out ideas of she can stay with him or he can stay with her. Or that he can visit more. But even to his ears he knows that it is not enough. She then pulls away to stand and hands him the Book of Ashanti. She tells him to hide it from her. She then flies on top of the altar and begins to burn all copies of the Darkhold. She tells him that he needs to go. But he doesn’t want to leave her alone. She insists that he needs to go because she is bringing the temple down so that no one, not even her, can be tempted by the Darkhold again. He goes to leave but turns back and makes her promise that she will try and find something to hold on to so that she can leave before the temple falls and crushes her underneath. She promises to try. As she does this, we would see the psychological toll she has gone through while under the Darkhold. We see her break free from the Darkhold’s influence but be left with this ultimate cosmic, nexus power she gains from destroying all the Darkholds in every universe. (We would also maybe see E. Wanda’s reaction to the Darkhold burning learning that she is still alive). With this power flowing through her we see her fears of hurting more people. Of taking this power absorbing it and doing horrible things. We see her break a little bit more and weep. Because she is alone. Utterly alone. No twin. No husband. No children. Barley even friends. No family. She thinks it would all be better if she just ends it. Then we see her remembering Prof. Xavier’s quote, “Just because someone stumbles and loses their way doesn't mean they're lost forever. We're not as alone as you think.” She remembers how kind he was to her and how he told her that there were more people just like her in his universe. People with powers that the world could not understand or embrace. And she says to herself “I don’t want to be alone any more. I want more people like me. Mutants…like me. More Mutants.” And the power she felt growing inside of her shoots out and spreads through out the entire world. Galaxy even. As it does so, she smiles. We then would cut to sorcerers feeling things changing on a cosmic magical level. Cut to Stephen maybe smiling while seeing the red glow cover the earth. Wong would turn to Stephen scared while asking him what he had done. Stephen would turn to Wong and say “I asked her to find a reason to live.” We cut back to Wanda smiling and hovering above the temple. Pouring all her magic into the biggest spell she has ever done. And then we would cut to black.
We would then get an after-credit scene learning that the Demon didn’t burn the body, but just transported it to his plane of existence. We then see the Demon calling out to E. Wanda and revealing his name to her as Mephisto. And says that he can help her get what she wants. Then we truly cut to black.
THAT IS WHAT THE MOVIE SHOULD HAVE BEEN!!!! (In my opinion. This is just my opinion. Don’t hate me. Ok I’m done. This took me two hours to write. Let me know how you feel.)
