another fucking twilight book? haven't we suffered enough?
If you decide you need dysphoria to be trans, Iâll decide you donât need kneecaps
okay, but like, and hear me out because iâm not trying to offend anyone:
whatâs the point in transitioning and identifying as a different gender and being subject to discrimination and hate if you arenât at all uncomfortable with your birth gender?
because if iâm being honest, i would give anything to be cis. literally. so i am utterly baffled by the idea that someone would choose to go through this without having any kind of dysphoria.Â
then again, theyâve never experienced dysphoria so i guess it kinda makes sense that they donât understand how shitty it is.
Maybe theyďżźďżź experience gender euphoriaďżź?
Maybe they feel better as their identified gender?
Itâs not my place to invalidate someoneâs gender
Be whoever you want ďżź
I suppose youâre right.
I still personally believe that you need gender dysphoria to be trans, but Iâm not going to push it on anyone else or anything. In the end, be who you want as long as youâre not hurting anyone.
Anyways, and Iâm not trying to say donât express your opinion because thatâs fine, but can you not make posts like this? Like, could you have phrased it differently?
I donât know. I just know that these are the kind of posts that are the reason I donât share any opinions of my own publicly.
Like, I reblogged your post and then got a stomach ache out of anxiety that people would be pissed.
Cause itâs happened before.
Just a thought.
Sometimes people just feel better as one gender rather than their agab, like how you don't need to absolutely hate apples to enjoy oranges, you don't need to absolutely hate your agab to be trans
Iâm not saying you have to absolutely hate your gender assigned at birth. Iâm just saying that if you have absolutely no dysphoria, like, n o n e, thereâs no reason to.
while it;s okay to enjoy oranges and not hate apples, imagine giving up apples completely even though you like them because you like oranges an equal amount. you know? itâs not bad, it just doesnât make sense.
But if I enjoy oranges more I would eat them right? I never meant if you enjoyed both equal amounts, then you'd eat both and be bigender or another form of non binary, I meant if I enjoyed one more than the other id stick with the one I liked more
Plus if I didn't have dysphoria but still felt way more comfortable as a guy than a girl id still have a reason to transition, it'd be to feel more comfortable
In conclusion
People decide their own genders, no matter how strange it seems to you
Ok. The big problem with transmeds is that lots of them are misinformed. So transmeds listen up.
Gender dysphoria is not the state of feeling uncomfortable or disconnected with your assigned gender at birth. That's actually called gender incongruence, and it is actually needed to be trans, a being trans just means not identifying with your assigned sex at birth and feeling that disconnect.
Gender dysphoria is the feeling of being uncomfortable with the secondary characteristics your body may have due to your assigned sex at birth. Things like hair growth, voice, chest, body shape, facial features, and genitals are common sources of dysphoria.
Not every trans person deals with dysphoria, but all trans people have gender incongruence. You don't choose to be trans, but you do choose what to identify as based on what feels right for you and helps you deal with your incongruence and/or dysphoria best
as a side note letâs stop writing eddie as borderline verbally abusive to richie in fics
there is NOTHING like the rage of searching for a post you KNOW is on your blog with a highly specific phrase and then not only can this website not find it but tumblr says something fucking stupid like âplease donât be mad. pleaseâ

I havenât read it since seventh grade, but my favorite part of Twilight that I remember is the âradioactive spiderâ line bc it implies that
when presented with a dude who looks somehow eerily identical to his adopted siblings while sharing none of the same genetic features, a dude whose adopted siblings are apparently all dating each other, a dude whose family never socializes with other students, is never seen around town, NEVER EATS, a dude whose entire family is super dedicated to attendance and punctuality but just straight up LEAVES TOWN on sunny days,
Bella thought âcould he beâŚ.Spiderman?â
My second favorite part is that she Googled it.
The biggest problem I had with twilight is why anyone would stay in high school longer than the allotted 4 years? I hate that? It literally made me so mad esp if you have been in the american school system like i bet theyre still as dumb as an other american also they have been going to school for so long and never once thought about sex ed? Also how are they going to school without ssns? Which leads me to my next point is that Carlile is Stealing dead peoples ssns for his demented family Thats right everyone Vampires Are committing tax fraud
First of all, Iâm actually almost certain that Carlisle pays taxes. Thatâs just such a Carlisle thing to do. He probably does them all himself late at night sitting in his study wearing a pair of glasses he doesnât need. âOur dad is weird,â Emmett says. Rosalie rolls her eyes, âheâs not our dad.â
THAT SAID, yes, itâs totally ridiculous that Twilight takes place in high school. I think the concept itself would have been 100% more entertaining if Bella had been a a junior transfer student from a southwest community college to University of Washington in Seattle, commuting every day from Forks, where she finds out the weird dude from her college chem lab lives too (Iâve commuted 40+ minutes to school, itâs doable).
Not only is this more believable, but it would also be a lot more entertaining and potentially funny for Bella to just slowly realize she has at least one class a week with each of these weird-ass pale kids from her hometown.
Edwardâs in chem with her. She accidentally sits down next to Rosalie in calc before she recognizes the resemblance. Emmetâs an overwhelmingly enthusiastic Fitness Management major who starts sitting next to her in Western Civ after he notices her talking to Edward. âAre you pre-med? You seem like you might be pre-med. My dadâs a doctor!â
Alice tries desperately to help her in a wheel-tossing class Bella had to take as an art elective after she put off choosing an art elective until it was the only one left. She asks herself daily why she didnât take Art History. Jasper is there too. He doesnât look like heâd be into pottery, but it seems like heâs into anything Alice is into (I still argue itâs literally impossible that he functions in public at all, but weâll roll with it anyway).
Make Esme a professor at the school, too. Adorable. Sheâs that Mom Professor everyone loves and and respects (and also sort of fears). She always excuses absences as long as you send an email.
Instead of collecting graduation caps and gowns, they collect degrees.
Imagine Emmet bringing up the time he was almost a doctor, but having to actually be around the patients ended it. Carlisle says âI warned you the entire time you were in undergrad.â
After a few weeks of plot devices similar to the actual book (near-death parking lot experiences, etc.), Bella runs into Esme at the grocery store in Forks (I actually love that they buy groceries) and realizes my god, these people live here?
It would also make more sense that Bella were moving back in with her dad despite hating the Pacific Northwest so intensely. None of that sort of quirky âminor league baseballâ stuff. She absolutely Would Not live in a dorm with some random roommate, so going to school where she could live with her dad was about all that made sense. The in-state tuition to a great university was just an added bonus.
It would also make the romance more enjoyable. NOW, a lot of people complain that a 100+ year old would have no reason to be interested in a high schooler in the original series, but I believe itâs very implied that all of the Vampires arenât just physically frozen at their age, but theyâre mentally and emotionally stuck forever as well.
Which is, you know, horrible. Thatâs why some of them are so damn angsty and emotionally volatile. Thatâs why Bella insists that Edward turn her sooner than later. Bruh, if you wait until sheâs 25, sheâs going to out-grow your maturity-level.
STILL, I think a romance between 21-23 year olds would have been better, by a little bit.
It would also make a lot more sense for them to be in college because of the way they function. They wouldnât all be eating (or not eating) together in the only cafeteria as the entire student-body tried to pretend to not stare.
Less people would notice their eerie resemblance, their coordinated absences, and their overall weirdness, which would make more apparent Bellaâs alleged super-strong powers of observation when she started putting things together.
Instead of there randomly being a sudden spike in criminals in that little town, Edward could dramatically rescue Bellaâs naive ass from a party her human friends dragged her to.
I could go on, but this is eventually going to become and entire College Au rewrite of Twilight in excruciating detail. So Iâll stop.
this is all I ever wanted.
did i just enjoy twilight meta in the year of our lord 2017
How do you write healthy parent-child relationships?
this might be more response than you want, but interesting (and kinda depressing when you think about it) fact: thereâve been a bunch of research studies where parents have been asked what they think makes a healthy parent-child relationship, and they tend to likeâŚnot answer the actual question because they think theyâre being asked what good parenting is, which is not the same. so they talk about things like helping kids with homework and making sure they eat well. children, on the other hand, usually respond to the same question with stuff thatâs literally just the definition of healthy relationships generally. affection, honesty, respect, spending time together, sharing interests. and the real kicker is, objectively, we know thatâs the kind of stuff that actually has a much better impact not only on whether or not the relationship is strong and positive but also the kidâs overall happiness and psychological health.
so, if you want to write a character whoâs really intent on being a Good Parent youâd have them putting massive effort into making their kid Grow Up Right, worrying about shit like if they have The Right Friends and theyâre spending Enough Time Outside. but if you want to write a good relationship, just make parent and kid laugh together and respect boundaries and be emotionally supportive, like you would when writing a solid pair of friends or romantic couple.
No that was actually really helpful and Iâm glad you took the time to give a serious response
Gonna work on the hatef--k verse today!!

The fact that Debra Jo Rupp never won an Emmy for this role is a travesty
howwww do you always leave the best comments on people's works!!! the most i ever come up with is "aaaaahhh writing good" and then some keysmashing and i feel stupid cux i dont know how to intellectually let people know how muxh i love their stuff fjdjdj
Leaving Comments On Writeblr
OKAY SO FIRST OF ALL.
All comments (with few exceptions), no matter how small and no matter how incoherent, are amazing to creators, and I can GUARANTEE that theyâll appreciate it SO much. Theyâre more than just a reblog or like! Theyâre a sign that you took some of the time out of your day and some of your energy to show how much you love someoneâs work!
Please donât feel âstupidâ. Youâre not. Your comments arenât. Theyâre lovely and so are you. Â
But, if youâre looking for some actual advice? Weâll see what I can do. And as always, remember to only use what helps youâadvice is only a suggestion, after all~
Here are some tips and prompts if youâre struggling on what to talk about!
Types of Comments
This post is originally for fic comments, but a lot applies here!
Thereâs a variety of kinds of comments Iâve seen, all wonderful things to receive! I usually combine a few of these bullets, which is where the length of mine tends to come from! (This is not a comprehensive list in the least.)
Keysmashing
Incoherent yelling about how good it is overall
Taking out pieces you like and focusing on those (can be direct quotes or paraphrasing)
This can be lines of the writing, a particular OC, worldbuilding details, etc.!
How it affected you (Can be good or badâwriters love knowing theyâre manipulating your emotions~)
Gif/image reactions
Critical analysis (which is the kind Iâll be talking about later!)
But you know what? There are comments that I donât like seeing very much, and I find can often be incredibly rude-seeming, even when you mean good. Iâd avoid these next types of comments on writeblr, unless people are explicitly asking for them:
Demands to update/requests for more: This⌠isnât helpful. Itâs okay to have a nice âCanât wait for more!â with some of the comment types above, but definitely not on its own. (And DEFINITELY not âWhen are you next updating?â Thatâs just⌠plain whiny unless you tread really carefully with how you word it.)
Comparing to another work: âThis reminds me of [bestselling story]!â Mm⌠okay. See, this can seem really nice, and sometimes comes across as nice, but unfortunately it usually reads more like: âThis is a completely unoriginal idea! Itâs already been done!â Which is⌠not so nice. Especially if this is the only comment youâre leaving.
Unsolicited (negative/constructive) critique: UNLESS SOMEONE ASKS FOR CRITIQUE, donât. Donât. A lot of writeblrs are posting up their content while itâs in its unfinished stage, and are not looking for people to tell them what to change. There are all sorts of reasons why itâs rude to give unsolicited critique, and Iâm not going to debate that here.
Tips for Critical Analysis Comments
I suppose having the intrinsic ability to pick up on deeper meanings is developed from experience, but I can certainly give some things to think about, here! And certainly donât feel required to comment on everything here: pick out a few that stand out to you, or that you really liked the most!
But you know what this sort of comment is like? Itâs like a high school essay about whatâs effective about a piece. Except itâs about something you actually like, and hopefully itâs something you actually want to write.
Writing style: Does this writer have something consistently unique and original to their writing that you love? Can be part of any of the below, or something else!
Sentence fluency: Does this writing read more slowly to fit the mood, more quickly to fit the action? Is it (purposefully) harsh cut and jagged or smooth and soft? Does it feel nice on the tongue when you read it aloud?
Word choice: More complex vocabulary? Do the connotations of the words well fit the theme and emotion? Does it fit the setting and/or characters?
Characterization: Are all of the characters different and distinct? Are their personalities easy to see in their body language, action, and dialogue? Is what they do fun for you to read?
Environment/Atmosphere: Do you feel like youâre there with the characters? Is the environment described well? Does it set a nice atmosphere or tone for the rest of the writing?
Senses: Sort of goes with the above but⌠Can you hear the sounds written? Can you feel the cold or heat, or the other senses that the characters have?
Symbolism: This one takes some experience to pick up on, I suppose. But does the writer use images or connotations that symbolize something?
Worldbuilding details: Do you get a good sense of the world and culture of the story? Is it woven in well, so it doesnât feel like info-dumping?
Anyways, there are so many other tidbits you could pick up on, but thereâs some to start you off! Basically, think about why you liked the writing so much! A lot of it can be subconscious, sometimes~
So yeah! That was a lot (and a long post ^^â), but I hope you get something out of that! And remember: keysmashing and picking out parts you liked alone is definitely enough of a comment, but if youâre willing and able to put in the extra effort to leave a more meaningful one, it can do wonders to improve a writerâs confidence and motivation!!!
And if you want more work from a creator, leave a comment about their writing, not one asking for more!
Trans people of color have always been here
A little PSA for people who use AO3âŚ
Gen refers to fic that is not focused on romance. If your fic is not a romance fic, please give it this tag.
Other refers to fic that is focused on romance, but is not specifically male/female, male/male, or female/female (like an OT3 (ship involving 3 people), a ship involving characters that are not male or female, etc). IT IS NOT FOR PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS. IT IS FOR ROMANTIC ONES. please for the love of all that is holy do not tag your family-relationship-centered fics as âotherâ you are going to give people a HEART ATTACK.
âCharacter/Characterâ is for romantic pairs. âCharacter & Characterâ is for platonic relationships like friendship, family, etc. Please do not tag family-centered or adult-and-minor-centered platonic character relationships as character/character for the love of all that is holy
The E rating is for smut and literally nothing else (unless you have other unusual reasons to rate it EâIâve seen people apply it to non-smut fics as a deterrent to keep minors away from it, but keep in mind itâll make it so people who are trying to avoid smut will not find your fic). Your fic that has a lot of graphic violence but no sexual content does not need an E rating.
The M rating is for fics that would basically be rated R if they were movies, and may contain graphic violence, some sexual content, and generally more serious subject matter than you would typically show a teenager. However, if your fic is almost entirely smut, please just give it an E rating.
Also, when you post a fic, you WILL want to give it a rating, or else AO3 will assume youâre probably posting smut and will warn everybody who clicks on your fic that it may contain adult content. If you donât want that on your fic that contains no adult content at all, please just give it the proper rating instead of not rating it at all.
this post brought to you by PLEASE LEARN HOW THE TAGGING SYSTEM ON THIS WEBSITE WORKS YOU ARE GOING TO GIVE EVERYONE A HEART ATTACK
ANOTHER IMPORTANT THING I FORGOT TO MENTION!
âCreator Chose Not to Archive Warningsâ means that at least one or more of the archive warnings (that is, âMajor Character Death,â âGraphic Depictions of Violence,â âRape/Non-Con,â or âUnderageâ) DOES apply to your story, and youâre choosing not to say which one it is. If you select this option, AO3 will put a warning on the fic that potential readers have to click through.
âNo Archive Warnings Applyâ means that none of the aforementioned archive warnings apply to your fic.
THESE ARE NOT THE SAME THING. IF YOUR FIC DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING MAJOR THAT NEEDS TO BE WARNED FOR, PLEASE SELECT âNO ARCHIVE WARNINGS APPLY.â

HENRY BOWERS
This was probably the best idea either of them had had in a long, long damn time.
Together, they stalked the residential streets of Derry past midnight, Belch and Vic at home in bed. A baseball bat in Patrickâs hand and a cherry bomb in Henryâs.
They came to the sleepiest street theyâd seen so far. No lights on in windows, no cars pulling down the street. It was perfect.
âShall we?â asked Patrick, giving Henry that Cheshire cat grin.
Henry smiled back, then held out a hand for the bat. They traded weapons of minor destruction, and Henry got ready. Stood at the plate â just to the side of a mailbox â and swung.
It was glorious, how the thing dented in. With another swing, he had the whole thing going sideways, and with another, the box was hanging on by a thread.
One by one, they worked their way down the neighborhood and back up again, trading off on each mailbox. Patrick was a little more sloppy, but still a sight to see.
Then they came to one in particular. One mailbox, the letters on the side spelling out little less than destiny.
BOWIE, it read.
So this was where Gretta lived.
Silently, Henry pointed to the name. And Patrick looked, and he smiled, and pulled out his lighter.
âWeâll have to leave after this one,â he said.
âI know,â said Henry. âGet ready to book it.â
And he opened the mailbox, and he took the cherry bomb from Patrick, and he lit it. Then he slammed the mailbox closed again, grabbed Patrick by the sleeve of his jacket, and ran.
