Sorry for disappearing for so long! I'm back with a little plant pot I made. It took me some time because I got lazy but it's pretty easy to make: I cut out a milk bottle because I didn't have any tin cans at this time, then I covered it with air-dry clay and drew on it when it was finally dry. Don't forget to make little holes on the bottom for drainage and make it waterproof by covering it with a fixative or mod podge (o˘◡˘o)

Put dirt on the rocks in your jar. I purchased my dirt to make sure there would be no bugs in it. I should not have filled the jars with dirt while they were in my bedroom, but I did. Spritz it with water so it is moist.

Get moss. Be gentle with the moss and do not take it from places you do not own. That is other people’s moss. Take only your own moss. Here is my moss.

Wash your moss. Be gentle. Clean the moss. Bugs are not welcome in our jars and they must go. This is my moss being washed.

Rinse the moss, let it dry a bit so it is not fragile and soggy. Put the moss in a jar. Spray the moss so it will be moist. Here is one of my jars with moss in it. This moss asked to be photographed, it loves the camera.

My jar is closed. You can close your jar or leave it open. A closed jar traps moisture and means you have to spritz the moss less. If you do close your jar, make sure you open it occasionally to let the air get exchanged. My jar has holes in the lid so I do not have to open it. It is actually a jar for salt, but I have filled it with moss.

Now you have a moss friend so when you die and turn into moss, you will already know some moss. That moss can introduce you to the rest of the moss and you will not be lonely. It also looks pretty and is easy to care for. Put it somewhere with a bit of sun and spritz it when it’s getting dry.

Extra moss tips!

When you pick a jar, keep in mind that rocks, dirt, and moss all have to fit through the top.

You can use a stick to move the moss around if your hand can’t reach it in your jar.

Recycle your jar if you can. Moss loves when you recycle, and it will help you make a good impression on your new moss friend!

Wash and spray your moss with room temperature water so it doesn’t get too cold or too hot.

Moss jars make great gifts, and you can find everything you need around the house and in your yard! Give your friend their own moss jar to show that you care about them, but you also care about moss.
