Can I be honest with yall I don't want to hear SHIT against cishets at pride this year
"But it's not FOR them!!!" The biggest military power in the world belongs to a christofascist nation overseen by a felon found guilty of 34 federal crimes and has greenlit a gestapo with more direct funding than the entire military of Canada for the purpose of ethnic cleansing. Let Hetero Jessica throw some biodegradable glitter at a municipal parade
At this point if anyone is trying to exclude anyone benignly pro-queer from a pro-queer space I'm just going to assume you're a fed or something idk like something something destabilize the movement from within or whatever
I am making a VERY big point of the Ally flag in all my pride stuff at work.
Feel awkward about people maybe thinking youβre queer but still want to clearly signal βqueers are okay with meβ? SURE. LOVE IT. HEREβS YOUR WEIRD FLAG.
Donβt fucking at me about allies right now, they are ALSO actually getting fucking killed over us. Take your puri-gay shitty tent somewhere else mine is great with peopleβs cishet friends and relatives showing up to have our backs.
(βbut what if they -β shitty behavior is shitty behavior I donβt care if you INVENTED queer sex, if youβre acting like a douche iβll kick you out. wanna act decent and accept the premises of queer coexistence and freedom, cool, iβm not judging you for feeling ok with the gender title they gave you in the delivery room or being attracted to people with the other standard issue title, grab a pop).
yep yep yep yep
If you're with us, you're welcome. Sure, sometimes you have to wear the costume before it becomes the clothes, but also, some of the best people at Pride are the slightly confused moms, dads, and siblings who show up whether or not they understand. "Love is love" also means "I don't need to get it to show up for you."
If you're trying and you fuck it up sometimes, you are welcome at my tent. The point is you're trying, not that you're perfect. You don't have to get my pronouns right every single time if you're willing to punch a Nazi on my behalf. I think I can handle pop-pop using an outdated term if he's throwing glitter and telling every sparkly nerd with nowhere to go that they're his grandkids now.
hey friends where is that picture of boromir with the gondor flag except its a pride flag?
Couldnβt find it so I made another because youβre right that itβs a crime and itβs definitely my duty to remedy it
rb and tag your favorite song that's not in english, japanese or korean
everyone loves to hate terfs until they realise that it actually entails rejecting bioessentialism entirely and then suddenly youβre βtaking things too seriouslyβ and you βdonβt have a sense of humourβ like iβm sorry but saying protect the dolls doesnβt make you immune to terfism it has seeped into every corner of mainstream feminism and unless youβre actively searching it out and checking your own biases you will always be at risk of sharing a space with terfs
βOnly women canββ nope. βBut all menββ nah. βThe divine femininity ofββ gonna stop you right there. βEveryone born amaββ if you finish that sentence Iβll kill you. βMen donβt experienceββ youβre wrong. βGender isnβt real but sex is immββ *loud incorrect buzzer*
It also goes without saying that bioessentialism inherently canβt be trans inclusive no matter how hard you try. βAll men including trans menββ probably not. βThis is only a womanβs issueββ is it really? βAfabs onlyββ why? βAll trans men are likeββ what? what are they like? finish the sentence i dare you.
i think everyone who's ever been fucked over by the slow, bureaucratic, cruel, and expensive usa healthcare system should be allowed to beat one (1) hospital administrator with a pool noodle in public while the administrator tries to navigate an automated phone tree in order to make it stop
In related news, I think that every lawmaker involved in maintaining and upholding the system as it is now should be forced to do coding and billing for one full day (receiving only handwritten scrips with unclear test and diagnosis codes)

One of these days I won't wake up to people being transphobic towards transmen. One of these days....
My post defended the trans masc community is getting traction again, but this time with the toxic side of it so let me be clear- the trans masc community is one of the most kind and caring communities I've ever gotten to know. Them talk about their experiences being trans is not them talking over women's voices, it's them taking up space they deserve. If you've ever equated being a man with being a rapist, you disgust me. Transandrophobia is a real issue in our community and if that term bothers you try this one on, you're a fucking transphobes and you being trans doesn't excuse it. Fuck you and your terf bullshit, stay the fuck away from my boys.
I'm really with you for all of this, it's needs to be said, all the way up to legitimising "transandrophobia" as a useful description of oppression. Trans men and trans masc people of course experience unique forms of oppression as a result of the ways in which their existence uniquely transgresses an oppositionally sexist society. But they do not experience an intersection of oppositional sexism and traditional sexism because being masculine or male is not disadvantageous in a traditionally sexist society. This is why transandrophobia as a term describes nothing new about sexism or transphobia. Furthermore when put alongside transmisogyny as if they are equivalent in implicit meaning, it passively strips transmisogyny of its original descriptive meaning as the intersection of two different axes of sexism.
I disagree that the term adds nothing. There is a form of transphobia that is directed at specifically trans men. I've seen people accuse them of choosing to be monsters to joining the "gender of rape." That's when they're even being acknowledged as men and not just confused women. When discussing a specific topic, it's often important to use specific language. Yes, it falls under transphobia, but it's not just transphobia. It's the same reason transmisogyny is a separate term from transphobia. There's a form of transphobia that is specific to trans women.
If you know a better term that could describe this specific form of transphobia that effects only trans men, I would be open to hearing it, but it's currently the accepted they used by the trans male community to describe their experiences, so it's the one I use.
I wrote out a whole reply and a half and in the process of trying to say trans men don't experience the intersection of traditional and oppositional sexism but I realised you got me there, they do. But I do still think we should be cautious about seeing value in transandrophobia as a useful description of systemic oppression. The differences between the intersections that transandrophobia (TA) and transmisogyny (TM) describe are important when it comes to oppressive systems. Considering them as descriptors of the intersections of traditional and oppositional sexism, while the axis of oppositional sexism describes systemic oppression in TA, the axis of traditional sexism does not.
The example you give above displays this well. Saying that men are monstrous or rapists because they are men is traditionally sexist as it assigns untrue characteristics as innate. Saying that trans men are the same by virtue of being trans (men) invokes oppositional sexism, implying that by virtue of being trans (men) they are monstrous or rapists. This is clearly oppositionally and tranditionally sexist, but notice that while saying men are monstrous or rapist does invoke traditional sexism, it doesn't systemically oppress men as a result. The same is true for trans men who, like cis men, do not experience systemic oppression because people express misandric views.
I want to be clear I will never defend those views in any way or form, gender essentialism like that perpetuates sexism and should be virulently criticised and shut down. Yet I want us to remember that those kinds of views specifically reinforce a patriarchal sexism, a sexism that establishes men as innately stronger, more capable, powerful etc. Even as it falsely paints men as innately horrid this kind of sexism still upholds a gender system that leaves women and femininity at the bottom as inferior subjugates. It's for these reasons that I'm wary of when people say things like your above comment: "It's the same reason transmisogyny is a separate term from transphobia". This implies that TM and TA are either equivalent in some way, or that they are mirrors of each other, when they are not.
Transmisogyny and transandrophobia carry a similar level of difference in meaning that misandry and misogyny do, the difference being the presence of describing traditional, patriarchal sexist oppression. While the need for trans men and trans masculine people to have language to discuss their unique experiences of sexism is absolute, I beg for caution about using transandrophobia. Given the term's limited capacity to describe a unique intersection of oppressive axes, and the implicit risk that limited descriptive capacity poses in watering down the unique intersection of oppression described by transmisogyny: Ask yourself, will most people who use the word transandrophohia with good intentions understand the above well enough to not misuse it? If we can't say yes with relative confidence, I don't think it should be popularised.
#I hope my words have come across as respectful and insightful
They have not.
Why are you so concerned that transmen have a word to describe the part of our experiences with transphobia? How are we going to misuse transandrophobia in a way that hurts transwomen? Or anyone at all?
I would also like to know when we're supposed to receive Male Privilege because I've identified as a transman for 15 years now, and I haven't seen a lick of it. I just get people like you who keep implying I don't know my own experiences and that I'm not allowed to have a word to talk about all the ways I'm marginalized. I get talked over and told to shut up because a transwoman is speaking, and her words are more important than mine.
More educated, and knowledgeable about the trans experience.
Are you even willing to listen to us, or do our words have to be filtered through Rinnosetti before you'll consider them?
I'm not yelling. I'm tired of having to shout to be heard. You are, by dismissing our perspective acting more like a man than I am. You are treating me like a stupid, emotional woman, and I wish that people would stop coming out of the woodwork to say we're not oppressed every time a transman tries to say that we don't magically attain male privilege the instant we start identifying as men.
