Maggot

"that... is a beast." jet murmurs, standing in their doorway. they prod at the dead animal in horror's arms, unsure what it even is. "what is it?"

it kind of looks like a bear. maybe. they guess.

"food." horror insists. jet nods slowly, staring at the creature. creature. they're calling it a creature because they don't know what it is.

well.

"i'm surprised you didn't already butcher it for me," they mention, finally stepping aside to let horror in. he rumbles softly, shaking snow off his shoulders as he steps in.

"wanna show you how."

"why?" they pry. horror only shrugs in answer, dropping the creature on the kitchen floor.

"we're gonna do it in here?" jet whines. they didn't want blood all over the floor (or their fur, for that matter).

horror huffs, rolling his eye. he rummages around under the sink for extra garbage bags to line the floor.

"good?" he asks. jet sighs, dropping to their knees beside him.

"i guess..."
