OVER THE GARDEN WALL (2014) Chapter 7: The Ringing of the Bell

(A little extra gripe is that the movie really downplays Theo and Boris’ drug use and alcoholism. They were pretty much getting drunk every day and frequently using drugs, whilst not eating properly - like Theo mentions how they often only had whatever they shoplifted, chips, and the hors d’œuvres that Xandra brings back. The movie gives the impression that they drink a few beers sometimes, maybe do some drugs occasionally for the hell of it. You don’t really see it affect their appearance other than Boris having tangled hair or whatever. There isn’t that underlying sense of aimlessness and sickness, as you said).

Vegas was consistently described as a blur and it should visually appear that way if there is no movie narration.
