What if Mariah and Shades had a fling in 1999?

Been watching P-Valley and Cliff/Murda/Teak gives me heavy Mariah/Shades/Che vibes but with the emotional weight that we craved from LC and had to write ourselves. I thought I wanted to write some P-Valley fic, and maybe I will eventually, but what I really want is to finish this story.

Think I’m gonna write the final four chapters this year. Rereading what I’ve written so far has legit made my heart swell and I’m excited to get back into it. If you’re still out there, shout out to you.

I imagine that maybe the first time he heard about it, it was in passing and it didn’t register. Idle chatter between strangers in the bodega, nothing worth paying attention. No one’s fucking with him anymore, so no calls, no texts. 

It doesn’t really hit him until he sees that headline. And his stomach drops. He’s surprised, but he isn’t; she had, after all, gone full on gangster, but gotdamn that was fast.

So he buys the paper, takes it to a diner. One last meal together, one last goodbye.

And then here comes fucking Misty to break up the party. Like always.
