She was paid $125,000 + $500 a week for living expenses, her own hair stylist at the expense of the studio, and a chauffeured limo for the twelve weeks she spent in France making this film. At the time, Dottie was the most popular American star in Europe. In this film, Dottie played the role of an African slave who was half black and half white, who was loved by the white slave ship captain (played by Curt Jürgens). There were two versions of Tamango made because of the love scenes. One was to be released in the US, and the other was released everywhere else. This was because the Motion Picture Producers Association did not approve of any intimate or physical contact between blacks and whites.

But I do think the mentions of Young Violet in the last couple of episodes are teeing up for a spin-off! And I think it would be hard to fall in love with Marcus and Violet when we see Violet and Edmund falling in love simultaneously in the prequel.

Eloise is my favourite character in the series mainly because of how relatable she is. I always see complaints online about how she’s always complaining about marriage but she’s literally stuck in a life where all everyone does is pester her about getting married she never manages to get any peace. The society she lives in restricts her so marriage is her only choice at living a normal life, as she points out to Benedict she can’t do anything else like go to college. A lot of people complain that if she doesn’t want to get married she has to do something formidable but why? Why can’t her not wanting to marry be enough? Not everyone wants to marry especially at a young age and that should be reason enough. Eloise points out the flaws in their society ,she is a constant reminder of the misogyny and i think that makes audiences uncomfortable because they just want to watch a fairytale romance and forget about the difficulties that women face in that world.
