yesss so this! On a surface level it's a simple "I'm enby so I'd transition either way", but the reflection behind it is realizing the person I've come to be is, obviously not defined by the conditions of my birth, but not defined by an opposition to them either, rather by the opposition itself, the change regardless of to or from. The form of the statement is a way to reinforce the experience and community that I've always considered all trans people to share, but is also in direct reference to an inability to relate to trans people who wish they were assigned the correct gender, because it is the transness that has articulated me, and in ways that run much deeper than even my gender.
