i have quite the thing for fictional sad and traumatized frenchmen.

“I can fix him” I couldn’t fix him and I don’t want to. I think he grew prone to biting and scratching in order to get by in a harsh world, and to me his resilience is part of what makes him so beautifully himself. I could be kind to him, though. I could show him gentleness. I could, slowly but surely, in the same way one earns the trust of a skittish stray cat, convince him that my touch will never come accompanied by pain. That, around me, he can allow himself to be soft. To relax. I could be the one he associates with warmth and safety, the one he longs to be held by after a hard day. I could be his home.

i think that the creature from Frankenstein should have met Bishop Myriel from Les mis. I feel this would have ended well. The creature would get a father figure/guy who is nice to him. Myriel would get someone who can get things from the top shelf for him

I’m convinced people who don’t think the 2025 Dracula is just a remake of the 90s Dracula movie just haven’t seen more than 2 Dracula movies. Not even just straying away from the book, most movies don’t have the same aesthetics and story structure and back story for dracula.

i don't understand people who hated the film just because it "isn't accurate" so??? as if most Dracula movies are accurate. as if we keep rewatching the Hammer Dracula films for the accuracy and not for Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing serving cunt while fighting each other. as if we love the 1992 movie for the accuracy and not for the gothic romance. it's a romantic and light-hearted adaptation, it's literally labelled a "love tale". it's a beautiful film, no need to dig too deeply
