The only thing they released was a statement about the person they got in a trade: Jack Colter, a white supposed superstar who was "just as good as Hollander" according to himself.

This made a lot of people upset, but Montreal refused to say anything, which basically confirmed the rumors about the team being extremely homophobic and hateful towards Shane. Hayden and JJ still post with Shane and Shane posts about them, but never any of the other players.

A few months later, its finally the night of the Ottawa's first game of the season. And it's against fucking Montreal. Whoever made the schedule for this season sure had a lot of laughs. At least the game is in Ottawa, so Shane will have the support of his hometown fans and the home ground advantage.

Shane was the captain for a large portion of his over-a-decade long stint in Montreal, but here in Ottawa, he isn't; Ilya is. He isn't even Alternate, because Bood earned that spot and Shane wasn't going to show up and take it from him (even though he probably would have easily handed it over). Shane never thought of himself as the best captain. He thought he obviously wasn't bad, since he carried his team to winning the Cup three times (with two of those back-to-back), but he didn't have a passion for it. Ilya did.
