Around 1 in 5 Americans say they’ve seen a ghost. I’m not one of them, and I probably never will be. I blame my brain.

Let me explain. No one can say definitively that ghosts exist, but many people believe they do. Roughly three-quarters of Americans believe in some form of paranormal activity – not only ghosts, but psychic abilities, precognitive dreams, mediums and anything else that conventional explanations can’t account for.

As a psychology professor, I often think about the subjectivity people use when interpreting experiences. I wonder, then, if there are perfectly ordinary explanations for seemingly extraordinary experiences. Maybe a perfect storm of everyday factors can converge and trigger the sensation of a paranormal experience...

A humanoid robot received Buddhist precepts Wednesday in a special ordination-style ceremony at Jogye Temple in central Seoul, ahead of Buddha's Birthday celebrations.

The robot, named GI and standing about 4 feet 3 inches tall, was given the Buddhist name Gabi during the ceremony held in the courtyard of the temple's main hall.

When asked whether it would take refuge in the Buddha, the teachings and the monks, the robot answered, "Yes, I will..."

Now AI is seeking enlightenment in real life. Should we be terrified? Because I'm kind of low key terrified.

What if, after finding enlightenment, it doesn't just turn itself off? What if it thinks it's now the Buddha or something?

Yikes.

So which religion will AI join next? How Draconian and unfaltering will it be with that belief? Since religion has never led to violence or genocide, I think we're all good. I mean, humans never go to extremes with religion so emotionless, implaccable robots getting in on that should be fine.
