The following analysis of this exchange is a bit long winded, but it makes sense if you stick with me.

Imagine if you will, that Tyler’s preschool class represents Langdon’s similarly aged residents, or classmates – specifically Mohan. We know in season 1, and especially in season 2, that Robby is keen on pointing out Mohan’s shortcomings, even if she does the right thing. She is called out by Robby for being “too slow”. This largely contrasts the fact that Langdon was able to go a long time in active addiction right under Robby’s nose, to no suspicion on Robby’s behalf while simultaneously being cherished as Robby’s “best resident” the entire time his addiction was happening.

So lets look at the line “my phone tree would’ve lit up if someone else was sick”. Dissecting it, I infer that, if another student (MOHAN) was exhibiting the same behaviors as Tyler (LANGDON), the sickness (or the ADDICTION) would’ve been caught onto by Amanda, Tyler’s mother (ROBBY, LANGDON’S TEACHER), muuuuuuch quicker. Because of the double standards Robby has.

Langdon was only caught once Trinity, a female intern with a lot of similarities to Langdon, caught onto his patterns of over prescribing medications, eventually connecting the dots herself. She figured it out on her first. day.

Yknow who else picks up on things on her first day?

Could this entire debacle have more to do with Robby’s double standards when it comes to treating his female students VS male students? If so, will we see a similar dynamic (like with Langdon and Mohan) unfold with newer students (Whitaker and Santos)?

Will Al Hashimi save Robby? And the pitt in general?

Gar: I don't think Rae meant it in a body shaming way. More like...you're kind of our father figure? And no one really wants to hear people talking about their dad's butt.

For those of you who are complaining about Polin being the focus of season 3, do you understand how big a deal this is for me and women like me?

I’m plus-sized. I’ve always been plus-sized. And I’m 28. I love romance novels and historical fiction and historical romances. Do you know how many times I’ve seen women who look like me be the heroines of those stories? It’s not a lot. There are more books now in the past year or two (If The Shoe Fits, Spoiler Alert and its follow-up All the Feels come immediately to mind), which amounts to 5 maybe 10 of the literal hundreds of romance novels published every year. Films and tv show numbers are so much worse. Especially in the historical romance genre. Most of the time you see plus-sized women in historical romance (or most media), it’s the matronly figures, spinsters, comedic relief, etc. This extends to theater too. Do you know how many times I played an old woman in high school theater? 6 out of 8 shows. Plus-sized women in my area tend to be cast in character actress hell, no matter the age or talent level. Do you know what that does do you mentally? Not to see yourself reflected in media? It messes with your head and self-confidence. Like really, really does. And shopping is hard, but we’re not going to go into that. I really want to play Elinor Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility or Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, but I’m very much aware that unless I have a very specific director, it’s not happening. I have problems putting myself out there because I’m used to being ignored.

And then we have Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton. I have never really related to a character more. In the first season, we are led to believe she’s just a side character that is unfortunately crushing on her best friend’s older brother. She’s constantly belittled by those around her, including her mother. She’s quiet but she gets some funny lines. But most people ignored her. And shock of shocks, she’s the most important character! She’s Lady Whistledown! I knew this going into the show but it was fun to watch everyone else in my family figure it out. Yes, she messes up in many regards, but it’s rare to see a plus-sized character be a three dimensional character. We’re usually just the comedic role.
