Who am I and the purpose of this blog :)
You can call me Val :)
I have adenomyosis, PCOS and suspected endometriosis.
I'm 22 years old and I'm studying environmental science at university. After my bachelor's degree I'm going to major in atmospheric physics, possibly linked to astronomy and space research.
My personality type is INTJ.
I am autistic and I have combined-type ADHD. I recently got diagnosed.
My special interests include:
sharks;
geology;
space;
physics;
dinosaurs;
mythology;
clouds and thunderstorms;
aurorae and other atmospheric optical phenomena;
maps, GIS and remote sensing;
guitars;
Iceland and Icelandic language;
fishing and the ocean;
climate change and dynamics;
makeup;
photography.
My comfort show is The Big Bang Theory and my comfort movies are Hidden Figures, Back To The Future, Tangled and The Land Before Time.
Green is my happy color.
People would say my style falls into the hippie, grunge and chaotic academia aesthetics.
I love colourful eye makeups that I usually match to whatever I'm wearing.
I enjoy reading fiction and non-fiction books depending on my mood and what I'm hyperfocusing on at the moment.
I collect and wear quirky earrings. I have 40+ pairs and I still manage to wear them all somehow.
I listen to pop, rock, grunge, metal and indie music. Some of my favourite artists include Pink Floyd, Hozier, Amon Amarth and The Beach Boys.
> About this blog
I'll be posting about my daily life at university, studying, special interests, random thoughts and pictures.
But mostly, I would like to keep a virtual journal of my progress as I learn to deal with my autism and ADHD as a recently diagnosed adult and student.
I deal with severe executive dysfunction, so university is not an easy thing for me, especially as a STEM student. I believe there might be other people out there living similar experiences, so maybe posting about it will help someone feel less alone and less misunderstood.
Last but not least: hate and bigotry aren't welcomed on my page. If you profess any hate against anyone, please just go away.
