something i wish i had realized earlier: you can write poems on the same subject more than once. you can write, paint, draw the same thing over and over if you want to. you can spend your whole life making art about oranges. i think i always felt this pressure to get it right the first time like i couldn’t go back and use that inspiration again. but you can. you can go back and revisit it. you can pick up the conversation again and again if you have more to say.

my jock older brother is such a smash bros nerd like full on gets-into-passionate-melee-discourse geekery and meanwhile i literally cant play video games so every time we sit down together to play smash he will at some point turn to me and go “i cant tell you how much this enrages me” because my only 2 strategies are 1. button smash and 2. use pink characters

hi can we normalize the idea of choosing not to drink

no cuz thats fucking lame

hey it actually isn’t! i get really really sick whenever i have more than a beer or two and i absolutely hate how people assume i must be lame/a kill joy when i refuse a drink. people choose to be sober or mostly sober for a variety of reasons, e.g. addiction, medical, etc. and not a single one of them is “because i’m a lame person who hates fun” 

The degree to which drinking is seen as a must in social situations is fucking weird, and I think the fact that people are more put off by non-drinkers than by how much alcohol consumption has permeated the culture is … troubling.

shoutout to my Asian trans people. to all the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Pakistani, Indian, Sri Lankan, and so many more trans people out there. we aren’t represented much, in shows or cartoons or anything. but you know what? you’re still valid, even if you don’t see yourself on screen. you’re still a boy, or girl, or anything in between. maybe even just… not. you are valid, Asian trans people.

fat trans ppl deal with a lot of shit and its so sucky because some people will only support skinny trans ppl bc thats all they can conceptualize and accept when trans ppl in actuality come in all different types of bodies

if u dont support fat trans ppl the way u support skinny trans ppl u need to rethink what kind of “ally” u are.

As a fat trans woman this is so true even within the trans community. I’ve had so many other trans women invalidate me, be dismissive of my issues and experience, and so forth simply because of my size. It’s really fucking disappointing to run into.

As a trans photographer, Jess Dugan is basically my role model. Her photos of elder trans people, To Survive On This Shore, is amazing.
